Patong Villa

Have the redone the rooms? I have lived there 2 times, the location it great but i thought the rooms was a bit scruffy. I want a hotel with nice surroundings for kids, garden if possible.

Hi climber
The rooms I stayed in during April this year were very clean. For the money I think they are good value.
Highly recommended on this forum are the Thara Patong Hotel and Salathai.
Both on the Beach Rd a little further away from Bangla Rd and are dearer than Patongvilla.

I stayed at the Burasari in September this year with my girlfriend, good sized rooms, great pool, and friendly staff. 1 min walk to the beach, and 10 min walk to bangla rd.

Depends on price

Always had a thing for Safari Beach, both the hotel itself, location and it's surroundings.
1 min to beach, 1 min to Bangla and still quiet.
Nice pool and good restaurant, at least when it comes to seafood.
Found it to be a little too expensive for me this peak season otherwise it would have been a easy choice.

Yep

I always found them to be very friendly.
Just mail them and ask for a price offer, be specific about the joiner charge.
I did that on my first visit there as I do with all hotels and they never added joiner charge for me.
Girls will have to leave id with reception, at least the first couple days if she is a recurring "visitor".
They offered me 2000baht till the 20th dec and 2500baht onvards this time, low season I've paid around 1200baht.

Red face Mermaid

The Mermaid Resort, up by Andaman Hill is worth checking out. Really nice pool, friendly staff, exceptionally clean.

stayed many times at the holiday inn resort when with family. big rooms with 2 queen sizes beds. free-form pool and beach just across the street from the pool. walk along the beach road all the way to bangla within 10 mins. good pizza available by poolside. nice spread for breakfast too.
stayed many times at the salathai as well when going solo. small hotel without the crowd. smaller pool. less than 3 mins. to beach. nearer to bangla and bars across the street.
had been very satisfied with both. cheers.
