Kata or Karon beach
Guys,
Any of you have stayed overthere. I was in Patong last year and found the area a bit noisy at night. So I was thinking about Kata or Karon beach. But are there any guest friendly hotels there ?
Thanks a lot

kata is very quiet, and nice for daytime, evening has very light entertainment.there is a danish hotel on the 4 point junction as you go into kata and that is guest friendly.cannot remember name of it tho,it is a small hotel/restaurant/bar,very cheap and nice rooms.

Where in patong did you stay ? There are quiet hotels at night, you just gotta know where they are. Plenty on Soi Nanai for example are quiet as they are much further from the action.

Hi,
Do you have a few recommendations. I was at Ban Lamai. charged 500 bath joiner fee, and the room was noisy (very thin wall).
Thanks for any info.

Many hotels that are guest friendly can be found in the Accomadation section of this forum.
I used to stay in a hotel on Soi Nanai call Paripas Mansion - 5/600 per night(low season) and guest friendly - no charge for any ladies.
If you stay in a hotel like this it is ver quiet as it's far from all the bars and nightclubs but the downside is you need motorbike taxi's or tuk tuk to get to & from at night. But plenty of motorbike taxi men can be found on Soi Nanai at night. There are many other places around this area you can stay also.
ps..they also do motorbike hire which is worth it for travelling to the beaches in the day, other than that hire a jeep.

Karon has the advantage to be closer to Patong. I think though that Kata, espacially in the middle section is one of the best beaches, anyway my favorite on the island.
Problem is, that it is not so quiet at all. On the beach of Kata it is marvelous, but the road, luckily seperated by the club Med from the beach is very noisy. For the moment they are building in Kata everywhere.
In Karon, the road lies just between the beach and the hotels. There are even securitymen, helping the hotelguests to cross the road.
So the beach IS quiter, for your accomodation, you have to choose carefully!

Kata Noi
You can stay at the KataNoi Club Bungalows, just the dead end of Kata Noi. Very (guest) friendly. Can park motorcycle just in front of your bungalow. Very good for swimming and cliff walking, even tanning nude and swimming just over the rocks. Starts at 600 Bt for bungalow with fan.

Patong Pearl Resotel. Right in the middle of Patong, five minutes walk to all the action, but totally peaceful and quiet inside, especially the bungalows and the pool area which are at the back of the hotel.

They have no internet page, but you can reach them by phone or
fax
Adress
Duangjai Boriboon
Katanoi Club Hotel
73 Moo 2, T.Karon Phuket, Thailand
Tel 0066 76 284025 or 284248
Fax 0066 76 330194
The owner (living in Phuket Town) has email
katanoi_club@yahoo.com
It is located just at the end of the road through KataNoi Beach, after Katatani Bhuri Hotel. You cross a little bridge to private property, then you
stop just in front of the bungalows. Very quiet there. You can stop motorcyle just in front of your bungalow, nobody is looking, who is in your company. Just over the street is a beergarden, down there is another resort with small houses in the hill and a very good restaurant just overlooking the beach.
Prices:
600 bath for bungalow with fan
1000 bath for single room apartment with aircon
on the other resort down to the beach
1500 for little house in the hill with sea view.
