Accommodation in Patong

Hope someone can help - will be arriving in Patong 16/17 Dec - don't know exact date as I work for an Airline and will be going standby. Will I find it difficult to get accomodation not too fusy where it is - just want somewhere decent and secure - oh and not too expensive.

could be dodgy,there plenty of hotels around but the cheaper ones will go fast,already many are full for the xmas period.
expect to pay about 1000baht + per night.
check the accomodation section on the forum and get emailing asking about availability,at least if you dont make a reservation you will find out if they are full or not.if i was you (and i also work for airline so no how awkward it is with travel arrangements) i would reserve a room at a couple of hotels,not gonna cost anything and if you show you show if not dont worry.

angus o tools irish bar in karon is a good spot to stay, very broadminded about 800b and only 200b by tuk tuk to patong
