Cancelled Flight
I have just got an email from the travel agents, To tell me my flights have been cancelled
And because i booked them so early they said there's not much they can do, But they have offered me alternative flights and cheaper flights for the same date with different airlines Lufthansa or AirFrance, But i really wanted to fly with china airlines as i had a good experience with them the last time, Now they have also offered me flights with klm and emirates but it will cost an extra 150euro's.
They also said that they might be getting other flights with china airlines but they could not confirm whether they will be flying on the same dates that i wanted?
So i need a bit of advice on what to do next? Do i wait and see what happens or do i take one of the alternative flights? Or do i just take my chances and get a refund? Also have any BMs got any experience with these other airlines because i have heard good and bad about AirFrance but nothing about Lufthansa, Thanks in advance for any help given

My advise is take the refund. Looking at when you wish to travel,if you go to www.ebookers.co.uk and put your dates up I got a flight for £483 inc taxes from Heathrow to BKK.You can also get a flight with airasia for around 1200baht each way from BKK to HKT. You only have to arrange your flight from Dublin? to LHR. Dont know if this is cheaper than you have been paying but it seems a great price to me. Also Eva comes highly recommended by BMs. and its a direct flight.
I wouldnt fly AirFrance if the tickets were £200 They have a great reputation for losing luggage and crap food. See the reports of AirFrance here. www.airlinequality.com

Bono,
I have just checked the flights with lufthansa and it looks like i would fly to frankfurt and then to bkk with thai airways is this what you normally would do?
Dawsey,
I have had a look on ebookers but cannot find that price with eva but i found the same price for eastern china airlines but i have never heard of them, so i still dont know what to do, But i wont be flying with AirFrance thats for sure

For whatever it is worth, I fly Emirates/Thai Air out of Dubai all the time. Personally I feel you can't go wrong using them. I can't stand KLM, it's like flying in a cattle car.

If you want something REALLY interesting try the combat take-offs and landing at Baghdad.......be sure your seat and tray is in the upright and locked position!!! I think KLM does this on a regular basis whether they mean to or not.

Yes, Lufthansa and Thai Airways are members of Star Alliance, so they plan flights together.
For me, it was Brussels - Frankfurt with Luft., then Frankfurt-BKK wit Thai and BKK-Phuket with Thai again.
Last May, i travelled with Air France, so Paris-BKK with AF, then BKK-Phuket with Thai. Good flight and service aboard. I can recommend both solutions.
It is always possible to change your hour of departure from BKK to Phuket if you have too long to wait.
For my next trip in Feb, I have found a direct flight from Brussels to Phuket. Great, I win maybe 10 hours while avoiding transfer (Brussels to Frankfurt or Paris, and BKK to Phuket) but had to book via a tour operator ( www.best-tours.com) and take a minimum of 2 nights in one of their hotels. Finally, it is normal price, but I save time

My 2 fave airlines also. Great service on both
KLM, will never forget a trip back from Buchurest to Amsterdam - on landing was like something from a fairground ride - the plane actually landed then took off again....poor service and crap food also

On all my trips to LOS so far, I have flown with China Airlines. The seats are a little small, the food mediocre, the planes seem a bit old, and the stopovers in Tapei are sometimes the worst.
But I still like them for two reasons:
1) The staff are really super nice, both on the plane and in Taipei. On my last flight there, some Arab or Pakistani guy was screaming at the stewardess because they were one short of Muslim meals, and his mother didn't get one. He was really loud and nasty. They kept trying to make it up to him somehow, but he just kept yelling and getting louser. Finally, the other passengers could take no more and started yelling at him. The head steward came back after awhile and with a smile on his face somehow placated him.
The stewardesses are pretty darn cute, too, unlike American stewardesses.
2) You can change your departure date at no additional cost. That flexibility is worth a lot to me.
