House for rent?

One last option for me to explore, I will be in Patong Feb 12th thru March 6th. Anyone know of a house/townhouse/condo/villa for rent during that time period? I would pay rent for the entire month if that makes things easier. I am looking at up to $2500 USD for the month, I'm looking for something nice preferrably furnished with pool if possible, prefer privately owned but will look at ones thru the hotel chains, fairly well situated to the nightlife is a plus. Can anyone help? Anyone have a long term rental availabe? This would be for my GF until I am able to join her in June (?) and we find something to buy.

Thanks for your support Steve...55555. The way I look at it, I have already budgeted $4K for accomodations, that is how much the hotel I have booked is. But I figure screw it, I'm tired of hotels. I would actually be saving money over my current plans. I have already checked with Toy, and the villas are booked there during that time slot. As for online, so far all the nice rentals are taken, or they want a minimum 6 months which I don't have a problem with, but not at $2500/month. That figure is a one month deal. This is why I am reaching out to the fellow BMs to see if someone is "in the know" regarding a property rather than online. I will certainly go online and check the other two sites you mention. Thanks for the info!!

Great info Ian!!!

Great info Ian!!!!! I got on the website, it is exactly what I am looking for......but sh1t it is booked during my time. I zipped off an email anyway in case the house becomes available for whatever reason. I sent an email on the townhouse as well. Do you know much about that one? Also, didn't I see the house for sale at one time? Thanks for the info, it is much appreciated!!!

I asked him to let me know regarding any cancellation of the house, but I am going to go with the townhouse in the meantime. I am taking my GF to Urtheman's new restaurant at Surin (getting engaged there). I found a killer place at Surin Beach for some serious bucks. I may have to splurge for a couple nights at this place. It has an outdoor bath....great potential with that concept.

IF your interested in VERY high end Baan Sabai is approx 1k per week USD but is probably one of the most high end villas on the island..

Check out the Sunset residence in Kalim.. approx 30k monthly rate luxury 2 bed apartments with shared pool.. nice standard..

Phuket Beverly hills has apartments and townhouses with shared pool for 25 - 35k but mostly like to rent long term..

PR011 on this site http://www.villa.co.th/galleryx.php?id_index=3# is ok but IMHO a bit over priced for Kamala and shared pool...

Patong hill estate should be about 80k or so if they have any available.. Nice location and very secluded.. I nearly took one of these long term last month...

http://www.nakawanna.com/

I know a serious luxury place up in the baan nam yen development and the owner might come down to 100k for the month.. normally he takes a fair bit more for short term rates but if you dont need a maid etc and have a whole month he might move.. I will see if I can find some contact details..

Nearly forgot.. I have the owners email for this place too..

Good value and nice place that is private due to the way the villa circles the pool..

The Baan Nam Yen Villa looks perfect!!!! Please let me know the email address and I will check rate and availability for a month. My only concern is transportation. I'm a little nervous about renting a car and driving. Not sure I'm up for driving on the "wrong side of the road". Over here you drive in convoy at break neck speed down the center of the road (or sidewalks if necessary) and literally ram people off the road if they don't pull over to the side (it's called self preservation). I'm not sure Phuket is ready for me ....555555.....or.....maybe I will fit right in. I would be more comfortable on a bike, maybe that's the route to go.

You would be surprised how quickly you get used to driving on the wrong side of the road. No problem at all.

Renting a car is much, much safer than motabike. With many motorbikes driving abreast, fanning out across all lanes, even into oncoming lanes, it gets a little crazy. Thais have been driving this way all their lives, so they have some idea of what the other drivers are thinking and what to anticipate. For a farang it can be confusing and dangerous. The last stats I saw were for 2001 in which there were 128 fatalities in motorcyle crashes on the island of Phuket, and thousands of injuries requiring hospitalization! So it is even dangerous for Thais. How many BGs do not have a scar or chipped tooth from accidents?

Good luck, and drive safely. Couldn't be as dangerous as Iraq, at least!!
