I was supposed to get picked up by them at the airport the day of the tsunami, but obviously that changed. I've been trying to contact them by email, but I'm not getting any response. I would have thought they would be fine based on their location,but maybe they have friends and family they need to help. I know there are BM's that know them, maybe that can explain to me.

Hilltop was fine, I spent the day there. My friend was staying there and he'd never seen more than a few people round the pool. I reckon on the 26th there was maybe a 100+...

We had to walk up the hill in the morning as the road was completely blocked with abandoned pick-up trucks !!!!

They sold out any vacant rooms pretty quickly...

Thanks for the reply, but I wasn't too concerned about their welfare because of their location. I'm just wondering why I can't contact them. I was supposed to be there on the 26th, and I'm just trying to reschedule for February. I know there are BM's on this site that know the management personally.

I contacted this hotel via EMAIL for information about 5 weeks ago. They were really slow to reply, but did eventually. I think it took about a week.

Thanks Luke. I finally got hold of them by phone. Still no email reply after 2 weeks.

They are notorious for being really slow to respond. Lots and lots of probs with staff and who knows to do what. Not enough chiefs or Indians
