Looking for guest friendly hotel

I am allways staying in the Phuket Cabana (15 years) but this hotel is closed till October now.
I am looking for a good hotel where I don't have to pay a joiner fee. I don't mind that the girl has to give her ID at the reception, it is for safety, but I book a room for 2 and I don't want discussions about extra charging.
I am thinking about Salathai, Thara Patong, Patong Bay Garden Resort, all around the Cabana hotel (close to Bangla, so no tuctuc rip-off), or even Duangjitt as an alternative.
Any advice???
Thanks

I have been having a look around as well and like the look of the following that are supposedly guest-friendly...

Lamai Inn + Lamai Hotel www.phuketdir.com/lamaiinn/index.htm
Expat Hotel www.expathotel.com/

I have also heard that the The Cadillac, Swiss Villa, Valhalla and Orchid are all guest friendly as well, but haven't found out much info about them.

If I find anything more out, I will post it here later.

Good luck
Diz

Try C&N. They offer me a price of 1200B with no joiner's fee.

Thanks,

I am not interested in Cadillac (owned by Ira of the Rock Hard) or another one on Rat-U-Tit. I used C&N or the hotel next door (P.S.?) sometimes for a ST butterfly when I had long time girl in my room. Cadillac mansion also can be used for that. But I am looking for something closer to the beach and with a swimming pool.
So I think Duangjitt is out (no guest friendly). I phoned a friend yesterday who stayed in Salathai and he recommended it: close to the beach and also not to far from the action. Tara Patong is an alternative. I think that I would prefer Neptune if I wanted to stay on Rat-u-tit (smaal garden and pool), nearly opposite C&N.

Patong Beach Bungalows is the direct neighbour of the Cabana hotel where I stayed on 39 trips to Phuket. Both are damaged by the tsunami. Cabana reopens October, Patong Beach bungalows: no idea. In the same row but closer to Bangla you have The Beach Resortel (open allready or opening soon?) and Patong Bay Garden Resort opening February 1st. But the last ones are hotels with 2 or 3 floors, Cabana and Patong Beach Bungalows are what it says: bungalows close to the beach.

I stayed at Salathai in November and can recommend it. Great location and guest friendly. They take ID from girls and return it when they leave. One block from beach, and was only minimally damaged in the tsunami. About 2400 Baht a night I think.

Thanks Alll,

I'll Try the Salathai or Patong Bay Garden.
Salatha no problems, guest friendly.
Patong Bay Garden normally asks joiner fee, but they will not charge me.

My info from the info available on the web (thanks to messages posted here) is that Duangjjit is OK, only problem with the big pool. Anyhow, I am not going there as they seem to charge for joiners.
