I got my Thai GF to call from OZ to Book a Room at a well know Silom Hotel
all was going well had vacancys and the rate was 2500 bht for the double with breakfast
Until she mentioned that me,Mr Farang was the other occupant and the price went up to 3700 bht

She put the receptionist on hold and asked me do you still want?
I cant write what I said but lets say i told her to hang up.

Got on to the Internet to one of the wholesalers and picked up the same hotel for 2300 bht !!!!,cheaper than the Thai only rate

go to www.latestays.com. You get ASIA hotel for less than 2000 Baht incl breakfast (near Airport). Since it is now high season, you should book one week in advance. At latestays you can book maximum two weeks in advance.

on www.latestays.com you can book mom tri for 7.500 Baht (instead of 22.000 Baht). Just beside Kata Noi. Great address. Book one night with your GF and make a foto session

Your right! I stayed there last time ,booked from the airport desk and got it for around 1600 bht with each way airport transfers. Good hotel

It's always more expensive when going directly to the hotel for a quote, I have never understood why they do this. You get much better deals with the travel agents, the same thing applies with air fares as well. It's a crazy world we live in !!

We were booked in the Parkview near Soi Cowboy the other week.. Walk in rate was 1800, our rate (booked with TAT) was 1500 and our buddies rate (booked through a bird who worked in a travel agent) was 1200..

We had had a argument over joiner fees and were moving out and told them if they let us stay at 1200 no joiner (you can use the carpark lifts anyway for future reference

) we would stay.. No budge.. 1800 only !!! Seems odd to turn people away yet allow someone else to book cheaper and then pay them commision.
