Patong for a Newbie
Will be coming for my first trip to Tahiland in the middle of the month, and after overnighting in Bangkok just to switch planes, heading right to Phuket. (In BKK, plan to overnight at Miracle Grand for close to airport - unless someone suggests better.)
Which girl-friendly place is the best to stay in Patong? I am not too concern on budget, would like a place not too spartan (king bed, nice size, etc.), and do want it to be close to nightlife.
C&N has a quoted good $800 rate for me, but is the Expat any better to stay (at $1090)? Prefer seaview, but Slathai says deluxe rooms are all booked and quotes superior at $1,900.
WHat's the best option among these? Others to consider? Thanks for helping!

Hi,
I went for first time this past Nov. I would encourage you to spend a day or 2 in BKK. If you do, stay near Nana plaza--Nana Hotel or Dynasy Inn. If money is not a problem, stay at Marriott. That's where I stayed. Fabulous and very girl friendly. In Phuket I stayed at Salathai last time and really enjoyed it but you say they are booked. I'm going again on Feb 25 and will be staying at Hilltop Hotel. Very nice, but not within walking distance. Still, there are tuk tuks everywhere, so I don't think it'll be a problem. Have a great time!

Shoot them a mail and ask for a offer, state what you need and be specific about joiner charge and it should not be a problem.
