Hi Weiken
LHR to BKK is 11.5 hrs and 12hrs return
Thats a good price for you and your kids though

Qantas are excellent, good aircraft with your own tv and games, good staff, good food (I honestly like airplane food) and a big fleet so you will never be delayed for long.
They code share with BA, so you may go on a BA flight out of London. I would take the BA9 / 10 night flight to Bangkok over any other airline. We can get Phuket Air flights now for 3oo gbp, and I would pay double that for a Qantas flight.
That looks like a bargain to me.

Honestly Qantas are one of the worst airlines I've flown the service was crap and I won't fly them again but that's just my opinion.

Qantas
Hi WEIKEN
Ive used Qantas 3 times and every one of them has been a really good flight
I would definitely recommend them to anyone,
And I was sitting across from a Australian family and there 2 young kids were well behaved and
seem to have been kept entertained for the whole 11hours plus
good luck and have a nice trip

I've flown QANTAS from London...very good flight, but the high percentage of gay males in the crew was amusing
Remember that they now codeshare from London with British Airways, so you could get a QANTAS flight but actually be on a BA plane, which is OK, but I'd prefer QANTAS out of the two.

Qantas
That is an excellent price, for anywhere in northern europe to los.
Qantas, and BA have excellent, movies, games to keep the children happy.
They are well attuned to looking after the children, from my brothers opinion as he has travelled to London 2 times with his.

Malaysian and Qantas cheap for Songkran from O
My 3 mates just booked on Malaysian yesterday for april 2005.
continuing on the airlines thread, for those in OZ or NZ, Malaysian $1100 from Melbourne to BKK, with the annoying KL stopover.
Qantas direct Mel - Syd - BKK $30 more.
What i like about Malaysian is your agent can book the seat you desire, if you book early enough. The exit rows are blanked though.
IMHO remember get to LOS a few days before songkran and leave your destination a few days after, many cheap seats, last year i got from PKT-BKK
for 1000 Bt, i know smaller airlines can be cheaper, but i like thai and more frequent flyer points is always welcome.

typical kiwi
River,
you may well be a nice bloke, but when i read your post I thought i bet he`s a kiwi and sure enough i looked up and saw new zulland............
why do you lot have to have such a chip on your shoulder.
IMHO no airline can be that bad unless we`re talking trash carriers like aeroflot, garuda, air india or the like.
Sure qantas has gay trolley dollys, maybe they don`t serve wot uo want exactly but hey it`s a competetivie world.
could be rambling on my behalf but it just happens too much to be me IMHO again.....................
i`m trying to be constructive,it`s bloody well not working though

Yeah it's an Aussie airline and I'm an Aussie but I prefer not to use them when ever I can avoid it(I have to use them domestic as I have no other choice from my town)...
I have had some bad experiences with them mainly in the booking side of things and a lot of wasted time - also a bad experience on a flight from Perth to Singapore once many years ago(1980's)...
Their staff are generaly very good as are the aircraft...
for international flights I use either Singapore Airlines(the best) or Thai air...

Are those the stats Fun? $1130 ex Melb - SYD - BKK? I may be a chance to het a few newbies there after all! Waiting waiting waiting for Thai to release their April fares ex Melbourne - BKK for my mates, but just now, its me alone, using the ole trusty Qantas FF! Cant wait...but the again, neither can you I suppose :-)
 - catch you somewhere for a beer and a game of footy....on the tv of course coz I'd die if i played lol
|
hi Dabz, yes the actual price for mel-syd-kl-bkk is $1050 a bargain, from what i understand thai is going to be about 200-300 more, but we will see when they release their prices
the stop in KL is about 3 hours, so enough time for a few ales for them.
they got 4 nights in bkk for $163 at Classic Place, yes expensive i think but it will give us a chance to do the tourist shots, and also 1 night in each of Nana, Patpong and 2 in cowboy (i hope)
would like to see you for a couple quiet ones, my mates are all mad hawthorn supporters, so i hope they are not playing.

I always fly Qantas unless I have no choice. Never had a problem with service. Had a couple of delayed departures but hey what airline doesn't?
And it is great to accumulate all those frequent flyer points when I am not paying, so far it has got me 4 return flights to BKK and 2 to the US. In fact my next trip in a few weeks in on points. Also when I actually have to buy a ticket a buy economy and use points or upgrade credits to upgrade to business. Those new skybeds are unbelievable

I fly out next week, 6 days, my only gripe with Qantas is that some of the staff are unfriendly but i have never been refused anything. I prefer the service on BA actually purely for the staff friendliness. I get my fly buys with both airlines.
My ticket was $945.00 + taxes and that is direct to Bkk. Qantas has the reputation of being the safest airline in the world.
About gay cabin staff who bloody cares. On the last few flights that I have had with them they tend to use a fair percentage of local cabin staff. My last trip out of Thai had about 4 Thai staff from memory.
Bugger the stop over go direct I say. The only bummer is that my flight gets in at 11pm Thai time.

The few times I've flown Qantas I have not been stasfied with thier service once I flew Akl - Syd and they would only serve one drink for a 4 hour flight and when I asked for another they told me all the drinks had been put away ??????
If I can help it I'll fly Singapore, Emirates or Thai depending on destination as I said this is my personal opinion.
