Im flying from Manchester-Bangkok-Sydney-Manchester. 20th June - 10 sept. For 699GBP. Cheapest around we could find! Think that is a good price.

I wouldn't recommened booking via a popular travel agents, (ie. thomas cook, lunn poly, etc) they tried to charge us 1200+ for the same kinda flights!! Go to a specliased company for flights thats what we did and were sorted now! A company called FLIGHTS! Based in Manchester, London, they have phone numbers, so find their number and give them a bell!

Under 4 mnths now!! Can not wait!

I don't think you are going to do it in under seventeen hours; thats either manchester-singapore-phuket (singapore airlines), or manchester- frankfurt-bangkok-phuket (Lufthansa).
British Airways have some cheap shuttles to heathrow (depending on day and time, about 40 quid return), and you may be better off trying to get cheap flight from LHR to BKK, and then thai air to HKT

Asking this question seems to bring out the best in everyone, probably second only to the hotel question. I fly from Manchester every time and have been with a few different airlines,

BA do a codeshare with Qantas and this is my favourite way to go; shuttle to London Heathrow in around an hour and 12 hours or so to Bangkok.

Emirates will take you via Dubai if you have no hang ups about transiting the Middle East. Never done it myself but both legs are around 7 hours, so no time difference.

I tend to budget around 550/600 gbp for flights, but there are bargains to be had for the 300 mark just now, though most seem to be out of London Gatwick.

Trailfinders in Manchester are the biz for scheduled flights. Try www.westeasttravel.com for bargains.

Yep, I guess you could always work your passage on a banana boat but it might take a while ..

Qatar Airways fly to Bangkok from Manchester via Doha - I know someone who has used this service twice so far this year and was very impressed with the service - they paid about £400 per trip.

Damn good airline,Doha a nice place for stopover as well with good duty free and eating facilities. I like the Airbus A330/340 planes they use also.

recommend qatar airways to BKK - 3/4 hour stop in qatar
that is the cheapest - did it in oct nov for 400 sterling
also malaysian airways is a very comfortable flight direct into KUL but you are restricted to one night in KUL on the way out and one on the way back if you visit Phuket due to the timings of the flights
