Good luck
Diz

A few BMs have flown in and out of it, And as far as I know only BkkAirways fly there, Its called U Tapao and its a old military base airport from what I have read, Also you wont be able to get a taxi from there, You'll have to get a bus from there straight into pattaya, I know its a bit sketchy but hope this helps

Talking

Pattaya-hua hin is a ****ing long way mate, but pattaya - u tapao is about 45 km and will cost you around 400 bath from pattaya with taxi, and 150 with the bangkok air bus, and there are taxi at the airport but the charge you 800 from there to pattaya a total rip off, but the bus is 150, the airport is an international airport and there are alot of russians flying there direct from russia, but it's still a military airport like the whole area around Sattahip is an military area. But i can only recomend bangkok air, very good service and no problems with overweight, have done the trip 7 times from 24/11-04 to 24/02-05 and last time i had 55kg and just got a smile at check inn, the price is around 2600 for one way and it takes 1.1/2 hour. And it only takes me 20 min to get to the airpot(20 km) so no change i'm going to bangkok for a phuket flight

So, you think the easiest and most effective in terms of cost way to go from pattaya to patong will be through u tapao airport with bangkok air?? as you describe it it's sth around 3000..which means sth like -1000bht to try the BKK - Phuket option??how would you rate Bangkok airways?

Hi Aloha!
I'm doing this trip tomorrow!
I'll fly from U-Tapao at 12.20 and will arrive in Phuket at 13.50.
Minibuss from Pattaya to airport is 200 baht(reverse I think it is 150 baht still). They have a cheap promotional price at the moment at 1900 baht one way! First I planned to fly to Samui but it costed more, one way 2700 baht, so I changed to Phuket! They have flights everyday.

Bankok air fine

I have flown both directions Phuket - Pattaya and Pattaya - Phuket. Yes the Pattaya airport is part of the military base and quite small. Some of the flights go direct and others via koh samui. From memory was about 1500 one way but I guess depends on season etc.

Also done the Phuket - BKK then taxi to Pattaya. It is cheaper and faster to fly direct.

Bangkok Airways

Bangkok Airways operates between U-tapao and Phuket airports. I used their service a few times already and thir online booking system is excellent.
Just visit their website: http://www.bangkokair.com for fares and schedules.
Regards,
Bobby
