Swimming pool use in not your own hotel?
Dear All
I promise I'll go quiet again soon but until then.
Would prefer to stay in a place that has a pool attached to it but if all else fails and stay in one that doesn't. Is it possible to use any of the swimming pools at hotels in Patong beach area for the day?
It was possible in a fair few hotels in Bali which is why I'm wondering if it's similar for Patong Beach?
Hope you can help.
Cheers
Toni

I would imagine each hotel would be different, obviously the higher grade hotels would probably not allow this. If this is what you need, then I recommend you ensure you stay in a hotel which has a pool.

Toni,
didn’t think this was possible in Patong. Actually let me rephrase that – it might be possible but never heard about it whilst holidaying there. Sorry!

If you book a room in c&n hotel, You can use the pool in c&n resort, Also I think I heard someone else say you can use the pool at the end sansabai for a small charge(maybe 50/100bt). Hopefully somebody can confirm this for you.

Baan Benjamins (end of Sansabai) has a nice large pool usable for a few baht...
Quite a few hotels are ok with you using the pool if you either spend a lot of poolsid drinks or drop a few baht on 'towel' fees...
Valhalla does this (chicks for free so encourages daytime workers ) and one place in Kalim with a very nice but small pool also does the same.. drive until you see the big tree on the beach side on Kalim... then next Right.. Look for some kind of 'Argentinian steakhouse' sign up some steps and sweet little place... herbal saunas...

The places with pool and sauna as I know of;
Greenview Resort, Nanai road
Nerntong resort, Kalim bay
Patong Resort or closer to it (I am not sure the name of the hotel)
They charge a fee for it's services.
If you look for a good sauna with hot and cold water pools then I recommend Patong Beach Hotel.
Other hotels with pool just ask you to buy food or drinks from them, e.g. Swiss Palm.

Thara Patong & Salathai and C&N Resort/Spa all have decent pools and 3 different price points.

Try the Thara Patong , it has a really nice pool , great suntrap.
Take your own towel though they get a bit shitty about using theirs.
Good food too.

I can easily understand Your confusion as You have been first in Bali but not in Phuket yet
For my unfortunate case I had been in Phuket already several times , then I decided for Bali, and this was rather big mistake for me
Bali nature was perfect, people somehow... but not at all like in Phuket. Sea swimming in Bali was impossible - and lot of other things there I did'nt like, but no details here
So my definite answer to Your question is, that Phuket is the best , Bali is O.K. if You want so
See You next time in Phuket,

Hi Ally,
please take this very easy - there is just no experience for this guy about Phuket or all LOS - so what?
We have to point him the best (BGs etc )
I have posted answer to him ( IMHO)

Essentially you gave him the same anwser as me, Phuket was best.
The only difference though is I did it with a sence of humour

You can also use the pool at the Royal Paradise (the massive hotel that you can see from all over Patong). It has very nice terraces and gardens around it. Just give the pool boy a few baht and make sure to buy a couple of drinks from them in the course of the day and you'll be fine.

the pool in the photo...........
i think if my memory serves me that the pool is referred to in the web pages for Swiss Villa and the Orchid it may have some association with those hotels
