Airline Prices Higher in Summer?

I've been lucky enough to make it to LOS 3 times in the last 4 months and I'm planning another trip in June. It seems the prices for airline tickets are a lot higher in June than they were before. Myabe it's because kids are out of school, and families are going on vacation. Is this the way it always is? Is it better to wait until closer to the date I'm leaving?

I come to LOS 3 or 4 times a year. The most expensive flight is the one in July during school holidays in Europe.

I don't know about anywhere else but here in Oz the prices always go up during school holidays, suggest you change your dates by a couple of weeks

In Sweden the most expensive flights always are at xmas & new year time

in July there is "normally" prices to LOS .....but it can be hard to found a "last minute" ticket" to a good price ...there is no charter flights in summertime .

It is my experience that flight prices go up when the kids are off school, but it puzzles me a bit as well; you don't see many farang kids in Thailand do you? So how are they responsible for a price hike?

I've always found out in the Summer you should book your trip well in advance. It's weird, the cheaper airfares are booked months ahead of time. Since air travel for the Summer is at its peak, I don't see any deals coming our way soon.

Airlines will work in with travel agents on the best times to discount flights these are usually in your winter to boost numbers so getting deals in peak holiday period will be hard.
