Geir's New hotel/guesthouse

Things are working out good these days.

My friend and I tomorrow take over a hotel/guesthouse in Nanai road.
Its called Alisia Manison but it will hopefully be changing the name to 'The Darkside',

Its located opposite the new market on Nanai road just a short way from the main Bangla area. Nanai is a very happening place with lots of hotels, restaurants and bars to keep you amused

All the rooms are quite big, have aircon, cable tv, en suite bathroom, large cooler / fridge and balcony

We are going to rent out rooms monthly or on a day by day basis, and the prices will be low.

low season (1 Apr to 1 Oct) 500 baht per day or 10,000 baht per month
High season (2 Oct to 31 Mar) 800 baht per day or 15,000 baht per month

Im going to live there myself very soon

Tomorrow I will hopefully sign the contract for my new bar, which will also be called 'The Darkside'

Geir

ps if anyone is interested in booking or require more information please either:

send me a private message via the forum or

e mail me : gv1970no@yahoo.no

Sounds great Geir, should be enough to keep you busy and those low room rates sound good to.

Nicke told me last night that he will help me to make a homesite for the guesthouse. It will also be possible to book on the forum. I will come back to the roomrates and there will be a discount for boardmembers.....

I would say you could do very well by adding fast internet and renting out wireless NIC's and access to those that need it (easy with a WEP key etc).. Having broadband in room is becoming a real pull for some people who may do bits of work etc..

Send a message via ICQ to Nicke
I went to see the new guesthouse today, nice and big rooms, big refrigerator, hot water for coffee/tea.

I suggested he add DVD player and internet access to the rooms, great additional value for the guests and small money to invest.

I am sure this guesthouse will be a success.

I couldn't agree more. It's getting to the point where I won't even consider someplace unless I can get internet access in my room, as opposed to some internet corner in the hotel.

Spot on......Thats our plan. Yesterday we had 3 people coming by to ask if we had internet. As soon as we get internet they will move in.

And to all, thanks for wishing me good luck.

All the best !!

Geir... all the best with your venture to the Darkside. I do feel you will have a hard time getting Forum members there. From Lots of the posts I have read... Seems like most think Phuket ends at C&N. Most are too scared to catch Taxi Motorbikes and won't pay for a Tuk Tuk.... so being as you are on Nanai and you are well out of walking distance...I would say you will get lots of comments about it being TOOOOOO FARRRRRRR !!!

But I still hope you make it work with patrons who enjoy the peace and quiet of Nanai and the beauty of the hill right there and all the shops being half the price of Bangla...

Cheers

I think many many members and regular visitors (those that stay longer also) know that Nanai is a good place to be to have everything close enough yet not be in the madness every day.. I see no real problem..

Plus you will find that having 4 or 5 bikes out for rental puts a little bit in the pocket also, makes it a ncie package.. Arrive, check in, grab a bike, get sorted with net, set for the duration..

Have to agree with Livinlos for longer stays Nanai rd is a good option, Geirs high season price of 800bht is pretty competive I think he will get plenty of business especially if he installs internet and DVD was a nice touch Nicke.

BTW Geir does that mean you will be putting IJ in charge of inhouse movies.

I met Geir and Nicke at Geir's new guesthouse yesterday

Its very impressive indeed. I should add there is a nice beauty parlour / bar on the bottom floor with some hot chicks working there. It's a great place to kick back and watch the world go by!! I dont need to add to what has already been said by Geir and Nicke, these rooms are very large!!!

It's right beside the food market, which serves food 24 hrs a day and is alway full of farangs and Thai people. It's a favourite after bar / disco haunt for BG / FL's for excellent value eating

What can I say about Nanai, I lived at Sansabai before and Im now moving to Nanai. I spend alot of time up on Nanai these days, I really like the vibe, alot of long time tourists, very large ex pat community and of course reams and reams of girls. What more could a young innocent such as myself ask for

Geir Im absolutely sure you will get bookings because I reckon for the people in the know, Nanai is the place to be

G

Very good idea about the bikes. I prefer to rent the bike from the hotel i stay.

Needless to say you are "guestfriendly", or Geir?
