fellas there is a deal from zuji.com.au melb to phuket or bkk return via KL(stopover ok) for 500 bucks plus 135 tax
sounds good to me,I can`t go now but thought the board may like info 3 catches: minimum 2 adults got to book by 12 april(tommorow) got to leave by 5may still a great deal,it`s on malaysian airlines and it`s worth watching that airline as they are about have some cheapies,not that cheap though hope it helps someone

Another good option might be Gulf Air to Singapore, as I think they used to be something like AUD450 from Sydney, and then just get Tiger Airways up to Phuket. Should workout pretty cheap as well.
Flew Tiger down and back to Singapore last week, not too bad for a cheapie.
