Hi Ancientmariner,

I was there January 2004 for 2 weeks.
Hotel is O.K., but not guest friendly as far as I know.
To main street of Karon it is quite long walking distance, but for getting to Patong (particulary to MTB) for having more nightlife fun You have to take taxi or tuk tuk.

To Karon beach is also walking distance. Close to the hotel there is no shopping, You need to walk to Karon centre.
Beach view from room is nice, especially on sunset.

Karon nightlife has been described here in forum by TinTin, I think.

I'm actually looking for a place that has a sea view and not too far from some nightlife. I don't mind walking 15 or 20 minutes.
