How to get to Patong?

I am due for my first visit to Patong Beach later this year. What is the best and most cost effective ways to get from Phuket to Patong please and vica versa?

when you come out of arrivals hall, desk there to book at.

a lot of hotels give free transfer if staying for a while

Thanks Aussie. I guess the shrewd way is to see who looks like a veteran and suggest that you share cabs. I guess this this happens often enough. There is a regular trade in this from Bk to Pattaya

Sound like you are on a very tight budget.

Most veterans will not want the hassle of sharing, taxi drivers will not let you share you have to realise they will cannot make multiple drops, thus discouraging cheap charlie practices

Your best bet is to get a mini bus, it will go round all the hotels dropping people off, just hope yours is not last and of course they will stop at a travel agent where they get commission, the agen will try to persuade you to book another hotel!!! It will take you a long time to get to Patong

Then again just pay the 550 baht its not a lot of money, you will be in Patong in 45 minutes

ps if you are looking for cheap booze you can buy a carry out at ocean supermarket on Bangla, you can sit on the chairs outside drinking, then can cruise the sois without having to drink in any of the bars

I'm quite happy to admit some of my fellow compatriots can be real cheapskates but we're not all the same....

if you decide to get a taxi then you can share it with someone ask some1 that you meet on the plane if they want to share, then just get in the taxi together and just say patong then, when you are on your way tell the taxi driver that you want to be droped off in diff places and tell him yo will give him a tip and you should have no prob, money talks in los
