Blue sky residence
The rates for this place seem a bit lower than elsewhere - does anyone know of the reason i.e what's the catch?
I've also come across a place called ''ban ton sai''. Tried checking threads - does anyone have first hand knowledge of this establishment.
I'm looking for somewhere to relax when I feel like it - the occassional night off will do me good.
Thanks for any help

I have heard it's quite good, but a fair way away from the "action" so tuk tuk's are always required.

I stayed in Blue Sky a couple of years ago. Rooms are very nice but you do get stung for Tuk Tuks ... up to 200 baht.
Try Stoney Monday Oasis Hotel... better location. I stayed in one of there new Mirror Rooms last week AWESOME. Now they are worth staying in, believe me.
Check it out www.stoneymondayhotels.com

Stoney Monday isn't exactly on the doorstep of Bangla either
If its tipping with rain or you are a bit mao, then you are looking at a 20min walk.
And what about the stairs you have to climb, and there is no pool

I've never stayed there but I was thinking about checking it out next tour you'll need a motorbike to get there the rooms look great if you want a bit of piece and quiet away from Bangla I think it could be a worth a look wonder if they do deals on monthly.

IMHO good budget place.. I haggled them down to 10k for a month for a buddy.. Daily maid, big new clean room, pool all at a bargain price..
You need a bike but I would never be here without one anyway..
There was a large german population staying there (I think the owner my be german himself) not that it would have bothered me but a buddy joked about them having the sun loungers staked out nice and prompt in the morning..
They have a few sizes of room with the larger delux and suite rooms being very very spacious and good for longer stay..
