How to go the best way to Vietnam from Los?

Everything is in the title! As I am 2 months in the east next winter, maybe this will be an interesting trip!

Any ideas about stays/places are also welcome!

depends on what you want to do / see, if you've never been to Angkor What, I would go from Bkk to Siem Reap , then take the boat trip to Phnom Penh , then bus or fly to Saigon. Can be fun to go to sianoukhville from pattaya, then stop in phnom penh and down to saigon. Last resort would be direct flight from thailand

Haven't been to Vietnam myself ,but a good friend went last year and said Saigon is a must.Superb food, loads of girls (only $5) and wonderful beaches close by.
Angkor Wat in Cambodia is one of the wonders of the world and is well worth a trip if you have the time. I believe Marc26 visited a short while ago so he could give you the info about travel details.

Go the ass numbing way, it's supposed to be an adventure. I'd prefer it to flying anyway!,
Plenty of buses that will get you there from Bangkok but I believe once you reach the Cambodian border the journey get's rough!!. I'm going to go the ass numbing way this year to Siem Reap and haven't decided if I will carry on down to Vietnam yet.

I should be able to find some sites for you with prices if you are interested
