Tropica Bungalows

Hello dear members,
Does anyone know if Tropica Bungalows on Thaweewong Road at Patong Beach is fully operational at this moment?
I've stayed there end of 2003 and had a wonderful time so I hope to return there very soon.

I've asked the same question

I've poked around a bit but haven't found out what exactly happened to the place. On the Phuket Gazzette they have a link to some post Tsunami pictures. Do a site search for "Tropica" on the picture site and you'll find a couple of pictures. One shows the reception building still standing, the other shows a bulldozer knocking down what I beleve was the restaurant. Some guy on another forum said that the bungalows themselves were still standing, but had major damage. In any event, they hotel booking sites are still taking reservations??? Maybe it's all fixed by now.

Rex

looked bad january

the restraunt in front of the bugalows was totaly trashed
i have stayed there a number of times but glad i didnt stay there this december it looked real bad
the bungalows themselfs was still standing but guess the inside was very badly damaged
i went down the beach road last week there is a lot of work going on on the land that was the retraunt
i would have thought the restraunt to be the more profitable than the acomodation themself so again imho would have thought this to be priority
and if the bugalows are up and running the building work to the front would really cause an obstical to the bugalows themselfs
although the best way to help the buisness that you so love is to support it with your buisness im sure you will be treat very well as always by the staff good luck and enjoy yourself in los
chok dee

Hotel in March

I stayed there before and went in March. I stayed somewhere else though. A friend stayed there a few weeks later and said the two story in the back was open but the bungalows were closed. C 4 yourself.

Talking Tropica Bungalows

Hi guys,
I'm arriving on 29th August in LOS and stay for 4 weeks at Jomtien Beach, nevertheless I was able to book a room at Tropica Bungalows in the period of 5 until 10 September so I'll go there in between for a couple of days.
Hopefully everything will be there as usual but I doubt it since I've seen the picture in this thread.
Anyway the action is near, soi Gonzo, Eric and Sea Dragon can count on my visit.
