Question high-end/guest friendly?

Hey All,
Thanks for all the great info here on this forum. I'm a first-timer visiting in June and am wondering if there are any higher-end hotels that are guest friendly, within a 15-minute tuk-tuk ride from Patong? I don't mind booking double, if that makes a "joiner" difference.....
I know ya'll get a lot of stupid questions here, but I'm thinking this is fairly reasonable...?
Thanks for any and all replies!

Thanks! n/t

Hey River,
Thanks for the recommendation!
I see you're from NZ; I'm thinking about heading your way in October for a little ww kayaking and fly-fishing; do you have any general recommendations for areas where I might be able to enjoy those activities? I've heard Queensland might fit the bill.

Queenstown it's down the South Island big destination for tourists also good for skiing or snowboarding depending on what time of year you are comming.

There are lodges up and down the country plenty of hunting and fishing here the South Island is the most scenic and well worth spending a bit of time in.

I've been salmon fishing once and it was pretty cool we smoked it and ate it the next night with some red wine in front of the fire very nice.

Most of the top end hotels don't seem to appreciate you bringing company home. They will look down their nose at you, give you pain and make it clear that they don't want your business.

Mid-range places like the Salathai resort have a sense of humour and will put up with you, though they do get a bit upset if you bring home a different girl every night.

The 'joiner fee' is a hot topic which everyone seems to have different experiences of. It seems that the best way of answering your question is to e-mail the hotel in question and ask them directly about their policy for 'overnight room guests'.

I have loads of these because I sat down one night and e-mailed every hotel I could find in Patong, an interesting exercise.
