long term accommodations

sawasdee krup,

i will becoming to phuket in mid september to stay for at least 2 months. if i find that i like the area i will stay much longer up to 8 months. i am wanting a clean room, air con, hot shower, western toilet, internet access preferably in the room, tv, and fridge. small kitchen would be wonderful. or possibly a common use area for cooking.

is a guest house/hotel or apartment the best way to go?

i would like to keep my rent at no more then 10k including electric.

long term motor bike rental as well.

look forward to hearing from anyone and thank you for addressing my email.

marcellus

Well you will be very hard pushed to get that price in a guesthouse in Patong.. Once you start looking outside guesthouses to small rooms and apartments its possible to find a studio room or similar at that price bracket but highly unlikely to get tel line included (you could be on the phone to the west and then do a runner) and broadband in low end places is still rare..

I think you will find most local expats who know the area well will be paying mroe than that for 1 bed apartments, as a tourist it is harder to find..

Scrub the internet requirement (net cafes are every few 100 meters) and yes you could find a room at that price with fridge TV etc.. going up to 15k will get you a much better living standard and could probably be done much quicker (every night you spend in a hotel or guesthouse looking will be costing you money.. One week huntin the 10k place just cost you the difference from a nice 1 bed apartment with kitchen..

Although I am very happy with the house I got in Kata, they have a very good offering from 24.000 Bath/month.

As I am staying less long now, that would be perfect, especially because the kids are coming the 18th!

But before they come I will have some other "guests", so i have to see if that is no problem there!

It is house 53 for short term in their offferings, looks very good!

Anybody got some opinion about it? Sombody can take a look?

They double! the price for the season. And they are quiet small, no roomm for 2 adults and 2 children!

So I will take the house in Kata as usual, maybe no pool and luxury-amneties, but for 15.000 bath, more space and 2 bedrooms!

There is tv and dvd-player, so they can use their videogames too on that.

And.....there is always the beach, not so far away!
