Hey everyone,

My wife and I are new to this forum but we are leaving for Phuket and Bangkok soon. We'll be staying at the Kata Beach Resort. We have a few quick questions we're hoping you all can help us with. Is Kata Beach Resort guest friendly? Also, are there any clubs or bars that are open and welcoming of interested couples? I ran a search for these questions on the forum but didn't have that much luck. Any replies would be greatly appreciated.

Are you going with your wife ? Then what do you mean with guestfriendly ? One girl, or a girl and a ladyman ? You want LT or ST ? Together with your wife ?

As a rule, the rooms are for double occupancy, therefore in a 4-star hotel you have to pay at least an upgrade for 3 by house policy. I think it is better,
when you look for a day room in a not so expensive hotel instead. This should be possible in low season for THB 500-600.

This is possible in Kata or Patong, where you have a much bigger selection.
I don´t know which standards you set, but Kata Beach is in the upper price range. Therefore,

As a rule for upgrades, I always look at www.latestays.com. There you can compare competitive prices very easily and book a room just for one night (for the next day) in internet. You can checkin with your GF and check out the next day. A very good quality room for 900 Baht (2 guests) you get at Leelavadee Boutique Hotel. This is 10 minutes away from Bangla (for sporty people).

Hi just walked past KBR to get to the cafe.....looks ok but doesn't have the signs of a guest friendly hotel.

Nice location though but in my opinion on the wrong side of kata beach

A nice hotel not beach front and not guest friendly (1000 bht) is the diamond cottage...quite empty at present and 1400 per night via walk in or latestays.com

Nice little hotel in Kata 5 mins from beach is the Smile Inn.....no fees nice staff and adjacent italian restaurant shut for a couple of weeks whilst owner gone north....rooms still available at 600 per night

Kata Center Inn offer 440 Bath/day, it's quite basic but has clean sheet, TV with HBO, Room service, Hot cold shower and Bar & Restaurant downstairs.

the hillside, up to soi NaNai which runs parallel with
the hill, many places here for 500 baht a night max.!

In Karon and Kata just south of Patong, many cheap
places also and no reservation needed now!

Just walk a little around and please don't pay more
than 500 baht a day and never more than 10.000 baht
a month (included electricity).

Thanks for the info guys. We're definitely going to check things out a little more closer before making the decision where to stay. Thanks again. You all helped us out more than any website info we could ever find.

i thought the rooms were ok but the smile in directly across road more friendly???? kc inn ....has nice food available 24/7 though
