Phuket Thailand - from phuket to koh samui and phi phi in dec?

Hey all,

I have been going on and on about booking my tickets to Bangkok for the past month. I finally booked it and I am arriving in BKK on the 18th at 11:45 pm. So I figure I would stay one day in BKK and do some sight seeing with my girlfriend, from there it is off to Phuket. I checked the Phuket Airline site and it does not offer any tickets for that particular day. I have tried using AirAsia.com but I cannot book until July due to the fact that they do 6 month time frames. I am just wondering, how I would get to the island of Koh Samui from Phuket and also Phi Phi (if it is rebuilt and ready for customers in December). Any ideas and thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks again. I will be spending about 4 days in Phuket and 3 days in Koh Samui and 3 days in Phi Phi if possible.

We travelled from Phuket to Krabi by private taxi (about 3 or 4 hours) and then once in Krabi we bought a "guided tour" ticket to Samui. This was an all-day trip that started on a minivan, then on a big bus, then the ferry ride to Samui and then another mini van to take us to our hotel. This took all day. Depending on how long you are visiting Thailand, I wouldn't recommend this route if you are on a short holiday.

We flew back to Phuket from Samui in about 2 hours compared to our day and a half adventure going the other way. Although it was pretty cool to see some of the landscape of Thailand that we wouldn't have otherwise seen.

So, if you aren't able to get a flight to Samui, it is possible, but very lengthy.

K, I'm probably totally missing something here cause my head is in a major fog this morning (major birthday celebrations last night), but it was a private taxi. Actually it was quite funny because everytime we came to a checkpoint, the driver made us roll up our windows. We asked him why, and he said that he wasn't actually licensed to drive passengers. Funny thing is we'd been using him for 8 days and NOW he finally tells us. 5555555
