Qatar Airlines
Hi folks. I have just been offered a Qatar Airlines flight (with some airmiles) for £209.40 to Bangkok, which is staggeringly cheap.
I am a bit of a nervous flyer though, so transiting Middle Eastern countries has my chuff nipping up a bit, and I have never spoken to anybody who has flown with them. Any experiences with Qatar Airlines? All feedback appreciated.

Hi Steve,
I flew with them 2 years ago (during Gulf War) and they were fine. The airport at Doha is quite good with a resteraunt, duty free it's clean and comfortable. Watch out for the connecting flights - some have a 7 hour wait, others as little as 1 hour. There are lots of flights and Doha is the hub for Qatar. Everything was on time going and coming. Booked my flight for forthcoming New Year a few weeks ago with Qatar and it cost me £480, the only one cheaper than this was Jordanian Airlines. They are an Islamic airline but they do seve alcoholic drinks.. Have fun - wish it was me

They are a good airline Steve. I have used them twice before LHR-Doha-Abu Dhabi. Until I used Etihad this year they were my favourite Middle East airline,and that includes Emirates.
As Gez has said,Doha is a nice modern but small airport with a good duty free shop and restaurant. Incidentally you can use English money there but will receive the change in Qatari rials. Enjoy your trip,you got a great price.

Just back, travelled with Qatar from London - Rangoon then BKK to London. Very impressed, would rank them above Etihad and Emirates.
Transfer times in Doha can be very short though - only just made the connection on the way back.
