Airline help please
Few questions !
1)Are there any airlines that fly direct from phuket to melbourne
2)Im trying to organise a holiday so we can go to phuket from melbourne (stay in phuket for 3 days) then go to bangkok for 3 days, then go back to phuket for 3 days. Basically to give us a rest from the hussle and bussle of Bangkok.
So, i somehow need an airline that goes from melbourne to phuket (thai airways) then we can go from phuket to bangkok, and back, BUt then i want to fly straight back to melbourne, or atleast phuket to sydney to melbourne

You have 3 choices
1) Thai have a non stop flight MEL/HKT which is only operating a couple days a week at the moment. You need to get back to BKK to fly home.
2) Singapore Airlines have good connections from MEL through SIN to HKT
3) Malaysian Airlines via KUL, but connections times arent the best.
Best option go and see a travel agent to get the latest fares and schedules.

Have you check this itinerary out with a travel agent, as generally mixing carriers increases the fares.

Shangri-La is very good - it's worth joining their Golden Circle program (Frequent Stayer) as you can get some good benefits (though these have go worse in the last year or so).

personally being in the airline industry i was always told to mix your flights up,staying with the same carrier works out more expensive.
usually if i goto los via hong kong i use ba to hk,cathay to bkk and thai to hkt.for me it works out cheap but if you priced it up the same routes with ba(or ba codeshare from hk-bkk)it works out dearer than using the 3 different carriers

Dont you just hate people who talk about their ID90 travel?? Only joking good luck to ya .
Its not normally the case with us folks paying full fare, mixing carriers can add to the fare.

to be honest mate it is getting easier and cheaper to buy bargain bucket seats.bangkok via ba is almost impossible to get on now,i got off loaded for 3 days in may.thats supposed to be quiet season.thats why i normally go via hong kong, but even now its almost inmpossible to get there.my mate finally got to bkk via hongkong but it took over a week of trying for the hong kong anf bkk flights.just less flights and more passengers mean no staff seats ;(
in august which is very quiet in los i couldnt get a seat at all ended up buying a 300 quid return hotline ba ticket.plus i gotta pay for the tg to get back with me on the same flight which was 300 quid one way for her ;(

Yea know what you mean, I'm talking about 12 years ago, it was only a Brisbane to Sydney flight about an hour or so, listed for the 6am, finally got on the 8pm fight, and thats with a flight every hour. Not much fun sitting at the airport all that time.
It used to really piss me off when work gave me ID ticket to travel on.
