Phuket Thailand - Swiss Palm Beach vs Thara Patong Beach Resort

Hello to all,

On my next vacations I intend to stay at Swiss Palm Beach (standard room) or at Thara Patong Beach Resort (superior or deluxe).

Based on your personal experiences witch is the best hotel?
Criteria

Room quality;
Staff;
Location (distance from action)
Joiners fee

I just got an e mail back from the Thara Patong and they will charge 700B for a joiner each night. I am going to the Patong Bay Garden.

Is it closer to Bangla than the Thara Patong?

Just a little closer. It is situated along the beach Road between Bangla Rd and Thara Patong.

Thanks, think I know which one it is. Usually don't worry too much about things that are extremely unlikely to happen, but if I stay there, I will be happier if I'm not on the ground floor given that it's on the beach side of the road.
