Flying to Phuket from England. Prices?
Hey all, ive been looking at flights to Phuket from England, all in package straight to Bangkok then Phuket as I really cant be bothered having to arrange seperate flights. Anyway, the cheapest ive found so far is £533 including tax etc. Is that any good and does anyone know of any cheaper?
Cheers in advance

THGHolidays.co.uk, telephone them direct cant find their direct number at moment, they are based in Swansea but are part of Thomas Cook and you sometimes get redirected to another group member on the 0800 number, they always but always beat everyone else and usually have easily best direct & non-direct options, Thai Airways have got a good deal at moment £365 return to BKK and only about £50 more to Phuket and last but not least telephone BA travel and go as courier it will be £370 or less to bkk, got their number if you need it.

Hi mate. That sounds like a decent deal for November, and booking the Phuket leg in advance is possibly a smart move just now.
I do recall another BM getting stuck in Bangkok for a lack of Phuket flights. All the other usual suspects, KLM/Air France, BA/Qantas, Emirates are around 510-540 wherever you look at the minute.
I have some air miles and got a flight with Qatar airlines for 209.00 in September, it's the school holidays that seem to make the biggest difference, so avoid them.
My understanding of courier flights is that a company needs to send some freight in a rush, they need the luggage allowance and you get the seat. A cheap way of getting there but with only carry-on bags.

Courier is exactly as you imagine you bring back a envelope or package for BA, nothing dodgy it is passed through customs and sealed and you pick it up just before boarding in BKK and deliver it to the atrium in heathrow.
Downside is that you give them your return date and then pick a departure date, if longer than two weeks they charge extra and if going with a mate okay but only one courier per day so you will have to come home one day apart. Works best if travelling alone bored at home and want a quick cheap recharging in los. Thay also offer the same for hong kong, new york, maldives and somewhere else cant remember at moment, just ask, other airlines offer courier reduced flights as well.

To dawsey thanks
booked my flight for november.
Not dawseys choice first tried cheapestflights.co.uk and they said £840 with thai air.
when the lady said what do you think, i replied bit expensive but no thanks and see said its the busy time of the year etc etc.
Phoned one of dawsey suggestions westeasttravel .com tel 0870 2201001.
great price only £505 direct flight special offer with thai air. i only go with thai air or eva air and direct. so a very good price for that. i went in november a few years ago and i paid £620 so i know its a good price.
thanks again dawsey for the name of the flight company.
arrive phuket 4th november for 2 weeks.

Nice one Baz
Glad the site helped
That does sound a very good price. I know west east travel use Thai,Eva and previously Phuket Air, extensively, so they are always a good place to start for a good price.
Have a good trip mate
BTW was the price quoted to BKK or including the BKK to Phuket flight as well?

Hi,
Just booked to fly on 26th august for two weeks .Staying at the Diamond Cliff Resort-room upgraded to a Diamond Suite-----------all for £835. What do you think? I have stayed at this hotel before and it really is excellent-but not fro bringing girls back--as I am going with my partner its not an issue for me. Just wanted a really good class hotel and a total chill out. Thought this might be of interest--I booked it with www.destinology.co.uk. Cheers!

10-12 hours London to Bangkok, then another hour or so to Phuket, then the worst part of the trip, the aching 40 minutes from the airport to paradise, sorry Patong!

That sure makes for a long day..But its worth it ..I suppose thats why a lot of your countrymen tend to holiday in Spain and there abouts ..Where as we tend to holiday in Bali and Thailand..Bali now thats somewhere thats worked to death 2 and a half hours from Perth no night life ..You go out at night and you cant buy a beer after midnight unless you want to go to a nite club full of aussie teenagers ..no bargirls.. no fun .. and if your lucky you wont get blown up! Id be lnterested what other BMs think of Bali compared to los...catchya..

Book with confidence
A good website for 'all yer colours, all yer sizes' flights is www.opodo.co.uk (Don't ask me how they came up with that name either! Backwards it's od opo which means strange friend in Army speak!)
Good, easy site to get around, owned and run by about 7-8 major airlines (BA, Air France, KLM, Luftwaffe, Alitalia, Austrian Airlines, CunningLingus and Finnair to name but a few) Good legit insurance rates on your holiday that will pay up if you end up under a tuk tuk on your dirt bike (daft not to) Tickets delivered anywhere for a small cost. They sent mine to the airport in Amman, Jordan, They didn't debit the cost from my account until my mate in Jordan picked my tickets up for me and I acknowledged receipt back to them! Not bad IMHO | |
