Thai Air

Thai Air Fares

Any "Frequent Fliers" travelling on Thai need to watch out when booking on the internet. Thai will only give 50% miles on discounted fares (v or w class), so you have the choice, discount fare £ 435 and 50% miles or "normal" fare £550 and full miles.

They did change their minds!
From 1 Jun - 1 July it was no miles on cheap tickets after that 50%, but if you flew in that period and contact them they will give you the 50% miles.

Prices really have risen...

I did that China Air AMS - BKK route so many times and I used to be able to get biz at 850 - 1k EURO !! Cattle was around 550 - 650 and they even sent me a promo offer this year (limited window of travel etc) for 450 Euro !!!

I know Uk is that extra hop but it just sounds like prices are going up and up (prolly due to oil) each time I see them..

In my own experience,,,,,,
The prices given on-line with Thai are not the same as your agent can get, its allways worth asking then comparing before you make up your mind.
For the uk guys i recommend www.trailfinders.com we have got several tickets from them , to many destinations, pretty cheap, they have offices all over uk, they will need a copy of your credit or debit card .
Im checking today, waiting for a fax from Thai about the miles, Website claims to have a promo on for round the world tickets, so im gonna try to book Phuket-Lhr -montreal - Seoul - Hong Kong - BKK - HKT, then they say if you buy any ticket in one hit you can use your complimentary upgrade voucher ( you get one every time you hit 50k in 1 yr ).
So i guess if your gonna milk something go for it big.
Ill post the reply on how many miles they give me on a promo ticket using an upgrade voucher, 150 % would be nice, lets see.

Have always noticed that: Thai tickets are often more expensive when booking through their website (international flights). I always get beeter prices on sites like expedia or opodo. Never noticed that with other airlines like Lufthansa, Turkish, Airfrance, SNBA or Austrian. Really strange !

I found the Opodo site to be the cheapest prices I could find. The booking I have made for my September visit is the first using them and so far, so good. It is owned and run by most of the bigger airlines.

They delivered my tickets to Jordan for pick up when I transit through from Iraq and didn't take the money from my account until I had acknowledged receipt of them. IMHO, not bad.

Like I say, so far, so good. If it all goes Pete Tong! I'll keep you posted.
