House for rent in Phuket
Hi all,
I am right now looking for a house or appartment for rent in Phuket, ti can be Katu, Chalong, Nai Harn, Rawai... why not Surin or the area, as I plan to live there with my GF.
My budget is around 8.000 bath/month, and not a long rental contract to start.
Not so easy to find on Internet as prices are always higher than you can deal on place, so if you have some advice or you know some place.
I plan to move at the beginning of Sept.
Thanks a lot

You can check in at any mansion in Phuket-Town for 5000 a month. Stay there one month and then do some riding, searching and talking. In Villa Saaam (3) f.e there are enough houses for 5.000 baht a month. Take your Thai GF with you, that will help in communication and price.

I dont think you will get any problems finding a house for 8000 baht a month, but you have to drive around and looking for "house for rent" signs. These kind of houses cant be find on internet.
Agencies and internet pages mostly promote the expensive ones which also has to cover the cost of middle men.

Thanks Burg and Nicke,
I also thought to rent something for the first month and take time to find the good deal.
A furnished house with 2 bedrooms, aircon and a little garden would be fine, but also an furnished appartment as it would be maybe possible to find one with a shared swimingpool. ADSL ready would be a must
I will just have to ride and look everywhere, but if one of you hear about something intresting, please let me know.
Thanks again, this forum is definitively great !

Not so easy to find from so far away... I put an add on Phuket Gazette, no sa many answers... I guess it will be easier to find when I will be there. Many good deals in Patong, I hope I will find in Chalong or Kathu... I found nothing in Phuket Town, but I don't know if the place is nice to live.

When you get here just drive around the area with ur Tilac if you don't see a sign have her ask aound in the area you want to live.
Chalong and Rawai right now offers good value places on houses.
Ii found my house in the Surin area from a friend who was moving to Chaing Mai otherwise most Thai owners don't use the Gazette.

Wow Tintin, it was a great deal... I think many BG's pay the same price for a little room without aircon... I am ready to pay a bit more for aircon as "long time night exercise" is too difficult for me with just a fan

Hi Domifletch,
I have just contacted Wellta at www.houseinphuket.com with my requirements and await her response. There are some good and cheap properties on her site right now. Good luck in your search.

Hi Denver,
yes, I know Wellta and Ivo from www.houseinphuket.com ... I met them last Feb as Wellta had rented a house to me, both of them are great and we have had a nice dinner together, so I also count on Wellta to help me in my search. She is very professional in her job, and also a great person.
As I will not go for holidays but to stay there with my TGF and I will not have so much money to spend, I am first looking for a cheap house, hoping to find a kob in Phuket soon (not so easy now)
She has a look on the forum sometimes
Here is a pic of the dinner we have had together, I guess I don't offend her to post it without her permission, but I really don't think so as her pic is on her website.

Thank you Domifletch,
Great information as always. Thank you for sharing your picture, I'm sure Wellta won't mind at all.
Wellta's site is so very easy to use and to navigate around. I hope she is able to help in my search. I am sure you will have no problems in your own search Domifletch and I wish both you and your wife every success.
I see you are looking to move early September which is about the time I am in town. If you need any help just let me know through the forum. If you need a break also let me know and I'll treat you both to a meal somewhere. You may just need it by then!
Happy house hunting Domifletch and good luck

Thanks a lot Denver , these are very kind words, and, of course, I would be glad to meet you for a meal and some drinks in Sept.
See you soon, so
