Bangkok to Phuket
Hey guys:
I will be arriving in Bangkok on September 4th and need a domestic down to Phuket. So far I have checked Thai Air, Bangkok Air and Air Asia. There prices are from good to poor but the times are bad or they have no seats left. Can anyone tell me any other airlines that fly this route.
Thanks for the help.
Cheers,
Ashley

Air Asia
Bangkok Air
Thai Air
Nok Air
12Go
Surely thats the lot ?? and 1850 is too rich for you (Bangkok air) ?? Nok / 12Go and Air asia tend to be a little unreliable on time and cancelled flights lately.. BKK air or Thai for me..

Have Used Bangkok Air Quite A Bit For Different Internal Flights
Good Service Nearly Always On Time And Fairly Cheap

Book Thai Airlines domestic in business. Costs more but you stay in business lounge waiting, priority check in...
I allways fly business in Thailand
By the way, if you fly Thai internationally (even in economy) check your lugage through to Phuket, fly domestic business class, stay in the International business lounge (snacks & alcohol free) and you leave the plane first in Phuket, so you are first at the immigration.

Also in Phuket.
Yes you're not first if another plane just landed before you, but you are still the first of your plane.

Dunno... I tend to feel I should boycott an airline that acts like a noodle stall (dual pricing, more for farangs than Thai)..

yeah ,, i agree, thai and farang salarys are so simillar, dont u think.
We should all be able to travel for the same even when thais get like a 10th of our wages.
Should be a really safe airline i it was forced to buy oil at us prices, and charge thai salary related fares.
Any more great ideas..............

I'll just pop round to the Ferrari showroom and ask for a massive reduction as I don't earn as much as the people who can afford Ferraris. What would they say do you think?

Yeah plenty of rich thias.. If you want to arge on a sliding scale of wealth all I can say is how utopian (and communist / socalist).. Otherwise the only fair way to do it is 1 fair price for all comers..
Could you imagine a national carrier in Europe saying prices for whites one price.. non whites + 50% ??? Or prices for Christains one price and jews +50% (hey they are a rich bunch on average)..
This is the national Thai carrier.. The same one giving free flights (biz of course) to all ministers.. yet operates a dual price scheme...
Well they lose my biz..

Ohh yeah and the point being..
If a Thai wants to buy a ferrari he has exactly the same choice and price as any other nationality that attempts to buy one..
Fair level playing field..

and if a poor old bg wants to go and see her familly, or a sick mamma has to get to bkk for treatment, and unortunately doesnt have a ferrari.
The difference in price you 2 are whinging about is sad ....
Next youll be telling all the holiday people not to visit the fantastic waterfalls we have here cos its 50 baht more, or if your so worried, do the haggling with the t- shirt people instead of letting your bg s do it so u can save 30 baht.

She would use Air asia at 499 baht booked in advance going up to Bangkok air at 1850 (compared to a Thai price of what 2750 currently ??) .. Poor people would not be using Thai air anyway..
I am not winging about the price.. I am refusing to encourage a company that will discriminate against me to the tune of a 50% price increase because of my nationality..
I would bet if your round the world tickets had a 50% increase simply because of your nationality you would drop them like a hot snot.. Let them think its viable marketing practice and thats how it would go (actually it wouldnt because its illegal under the FAA to have these kind of discriminatory price levels on international flights they would have thier asses sued off)..

Bus and trains are cheaper than air travel - they could use those.
I was not suggesting that Thais could afford to buy Ferraris. I was using it as an analogy to show that companies do not give discounts to people because of their earnings. If they did, some customers would have to pay more in order to compensate for the dual pricing. In the case of Thai Air, that cost would fall on the farangs i.e. you and me. If you want to pay inflated prices then go ahead, personally I'm not going to allow a company to discriminate against me and make me pay more.

I thought this thread was about how Asley was going to fly from BKK to HKT, now I am reading about Ferraris and T-shirts. I am confused, but that's not hard

To Bangkok I always fly Thai, yes you pay more, but you get the benefit of frequency, airport lounges, frequent flyer points and properly maintainted aircraft with no corners cut.

You get a different airport lounge leaving Phuket by flying Thai ?? I never did... I always book my flight and know when I am expected and going so frequency is a non issue.. As are miles on a tiny run like BKK (I had thought they dropped miles anyway on those cheap short haul flights... only giving biz class miles at 125% ??
Seems to me the Nok Air planes are all newer than the Thai ones..
Anyway I have nothing for or against the airline as per its performance but will take a stand against dual pricing on a national carrier.. You let comapnies get away with something like this and then it encourages them to implement it accross the board.
