Amari Coral Beach Resort

Has anyone stayed here before, I am thinking about booking this for my Oct trip. How far of a walk is this to Bangla. I've stayed at the Bursari last time and it was about a 8-10 walk for me. But this looks to be much further out. good price though for a room with ocean view.

P.S. how is the weather in middle of Oct.

Thanks

Stayed there July 2004, nice hotel and rooms, booked it cos I thought I would like to be away from bangla etc to chill out but the distance to everything was a problem in the end, its a long walk and you have to run the gauntlet of the suit sellars every day, usually took a tuk tuk at 100 baht to bangla. Not guest friendly they tried to charge me 1,000 baht per night for the girl, I negotiated down to 500 baht by saying see was my girlfriend, second night i had to say well yes I have many girlfirends, they agreed my deal of 500bt but I've never been back because of location and joiner fee. Got like a policeman who takes the id cards and signs them out on the following day and never did that very nicely, made the girls uncomfortable with his attitude. Book somewhere more central with no joiner fee.

I think that the joiner fee is only part of the story. As Dodger has touched on here, it's the whole way the girls are treated at your hotel. They must feel pretty shitty about being there because everyone in these places looks down their noses at them.

I won't have anything to do with a hotel that wants to charge me for bringing some company home, there are plenty that don't.

Thanks all for the info, joiner fee is not a problem as I usually don't like LT with bg. ST hotel it is then. I am mostly looking forward to the room with ocean view.

The hotel itself is very nice. it has its own beach and a nice jetty which you can go snorkling off of.

I like this hotel very much, and would recommend it to anyone. The breakfast there is also amazing!!

I think if you spoke to management when booking your room, 3000 baht would be reduced to 1000 MAX

Yep I know of a few guys that checked out their first night when they were requested to pay B3000 for their guest. They went straight to C&N
