A bath on a bus, nah don't believe it. I've seen some crazy things in LOS, but never 20 people having a baths on a bus.

Now the baht bus I do remember in Pats and yes it was useful. I used it from Walking Street up to soi 8 area a few times. Anything that gives the tuk-tuk mafia a run for their money is welcome news.

I think I've read about this somewhere else on the this forum.

Love the idea of a Bath Bus, if we could persuade the BGs to use it .

Maybe the tuk-tuk mafia will oppose such a plan?

What, start a baht bus service ??
First day out, driver gets his throat cut. Bus gets burnt out.
That business didn't last long.

What is it with the baht and bath confusion??

It is actually more than a dream, and the project is progressing. The routes have been defined, and at the moment it is B20 per journey. But as usual lets wait and see if it really happens.

Who manage this project? Will do this some tuk tuk driver or is it a big bus who drive around?

The Pattaya Baht Buses are pick-up trucks with twin benches in the back, canopy roof. Bit bigger than a Patong tuk-tuk, seats 8-10. There are bloody hundreds of them here, and they too pip their horns at any likely-looking farang. They are however in constant motion so they're not parked on every corner hassling you to 'go see sex show' or 'massage'

Those are private busses for Thai people working in hotels or Bangla Ocean.

Diz

IF, and thats a bloody big IF, the proposal gets off the ground the fare will be B20 and will be the old current style tuk tuk.

Reminds me, the pick-ups of Patong dive shops resemble Pattaya BBs but without the stop buzzers. You'll see them around 7-8am gathering up divers around Patong, dropping of late afternoon.

The Ground Commissioner has postponed the launching of the Air-Conditioned Airport-Town-Airport Bus since the buses are not ready (they built in Rajburi).
Will ready by Oct 1st 2005

How much demand is there for a bus from the Airport to Phuket town? I would have thought that more people would want to go to the beaches. Is this service aimed at the Thai people?
