I left Phi Phi three day's ago. P.P Charlie and Princess are just gone and not a single bit of construction exists among them or anything that side of the bay. There is still plenty to do on the island and plenty of places to stay over the hill after Apache bar. I personally recommend Andaman legacy resort.

Phi Phi is alive and I enjoyed it as much this year as I did 2 months before the Tsunami.

Just got back from Phi Phi, and yes Charlie & PP Princess are all gone. Still had a wicked time though. I would recomend the Banyan Villa. Nice rooms and pool for 1500Baht per night. The Hippie Bar also has good music every night and the beaches is much nicer than most beaches in Phuket.

Cheers,
Roger
