although still not as cheap as malaysian or china eastern

has anyone done the china eastern trip? if so what were your thoughts on it

I have only flown China Eastern on internal flights in China, so its probably unfair to compare, but I would rather fly Malaysia, out of your two choices.

This is similar to Qatar's standard rate which I've managed to get at New Year. I'd rather fly with Qatar than BA.

Only difference apart from in flight service is BA are direct to BKK but Qatar stop in Doha.Still its nice to get out and stretch the legs for a while anyway.
Etihad do a similar flight stopping in AUH,similar price too.

Agreed Qatar are much better and do a pretty fast transfer in Doha.
They also have the delightful stewardesses (especially when they're on a 5 day layover

)

I agree BA staff leave a lot to be desired, but I don't like the stop over in Doha cos I am excited to get to LOS as quick as possible, Thai Air is still in my opinion the best service.
