BG Friendly

I already booked and paid my acommodation when I realised that the hotel I am staying at, the Baan Sukhothai, charges 1000B joiners fee.
I guess the options I have are to pay up and shut up.
Alternatively is there some cheap but acceptable accommodation that you could could book on a nightly basis to take a BG to?
Any suggestions would be very welcome.

Ask the BG`s.. They know where to go.
Or try to do a search on this board. The subject has been up a couple of times.

Find a guesthouse when you have a girl. The Sukahothai charges 1000B as you said. They also insist that they leave by 7am (they check!) which puts a damper on the night.

There are a lot of guesthouses near Baan Sukhotai that you can use. Your hotel is on Soi Bangla near 2nd street. Go to Soi Sansabai (just opposite 2nd street and you will several like Cadilac Mansion. Others are PS hotel and C&N. All not more than 150 meters.

Can't you cancel and rebook somewhere else? Even with a one night penalty it's got to be cheaper...

If I hadn't paid in advance for those four nights at the Landmark I would have walked out as soon as I smelt the stink in the room and hiked down to the Nana. Won't be making that mistake again.

There is a thread listing all the known guestfriendly hotels and guest houses around Patong. Personally I'll stay at Victoria's guest house during my stay. The hotel seems great, the rooms seems fresh and if you send a mail to the owner (which is a great guy) and will stay for more than just a couple of days you may get away with a daily rate cheaper than 1,000 B... This is the only gueast house clearly stating in their website that they're a guest friendly stablisment.

Was staying at baan Sukhothai last time i was in patong jun/juli and at this time it was writen in the hotel infomap in the rooms that the fee for overnight guest was 3000 bath a night, so if they have told you by mail that it's 1000 bath remember to bring the letter with you as proof to the reseption.
