save airline

Well at the moment there are alot of planes falling out of the sky all around the world. I am not worried about my plane to and from Thailand. Its Eva air so thats pretty save. But i plan to fly from bkk to Phuket and from Phuket to samui. What would be the savest company to fly with. I mean newest planes and stuff. Price doesn't matter.

Bangkok/Phuket, if your scared of flying then avoid the low cost carriers (LCC's), so that leaves Thai and Bangkok Air

Phuket/Samui you have 1 choice, Bangkok Airlines.

I agree about avoiding the the low cost carriers, but just my thoughts on the subject, so many planes in the sky and flying is still very safe, i am about to embark on a 7.5 hour flight, followed by a 2 hour flight, then 10.5 hours, i figure if my time is up then there is nothing i can do about it.

Your right about that Simon. But its more about having a more relaxt feeling when i am in that plane.

If i am ever sitting near the wing, i get a bit nervous, just watching it while flying with a bit of turbulance, i am sure those things should not flex that much.
my scariest moment in a plane was when flying into Houston, i was watching the ground and the plane started to slow down, we were going so slow i really thought we were going to stop at a junction in the sky for another plane to pass, i was just sitting thinking to myself, please speed up.

hopefully will post on friday if and when i arrive safely in BKK.

Haha funny. Wel i remember the first time i took a plane at take off the moment when it leaves the ground you feel like it falls back a little bit i thought it really did. I remember my adrenaline exploding in my body. That moment still feels funny even though i have fly alot now.

Have a good flight and enjoy the free beer like Stevem says.

Try sitting inside the plane, it definately feels much safer.

Sit near the back, in over one hundred years of fixed-wing aviation history there has not been one single case of an aircraft reversing into a mountain or other such obstruction.

Mine is the opposite, when decelerates prior to landing, feels like
about to drop out of sky.

And flying out of Athens to islands, look down and bugger me dead if there
isn't a jet junkyard. About a hundred trashed jet planes. Now thats
scary when flying a greek airline.

Diz, I would be very careful with Olympic.
Few years ago flew with them out of Athens, sortly before take off an announcement in Greek and all the paasengers round me started getting up and moving around.
I ask the person next to me to translate.They said that the plane had been loaded badly and in order to assist take off, all the passengers in the rear would have to move to the front, as the tail might drag on take off due to this distribution of the cargo.This we did.Same thing happened on landing.Only now, on landing half the passengers in the front wanted to go back to their seats to get their stuff and the other half were trying to get to the front of the plane to get off.The stews got off the plane so quickly you would have thought it was on fire, leaving the passengers to sort it out themselves. From comments made, it seems this practice was not unusual, as Olympic captains had a habit of filling up cargo space with their own "cargo" which did not appear on the manifest.

Be warned, Diz, Olympic seem to have a weight distribution problem on some flights

When a pilot pulls up too steeply, or has to much of wind on the nose, he must correct the aircraft,s aoa[ angel of attack] or else he slows down the aircraft to much. [or climbs to fast]
mostly happens to large planes [747, md11 ect.]
at the moment the pilot is phushing the stick foreward, you get a feeling of waitlesnes [and it IS!!! a scary moment]

It always amazes me how people sitting down back can says we were flying too fast or too slow, or the pilots did this or that wrong. There is no way you can tell from down the back.

One of the most stimulating landings, is the ATR flying into Samui over the beach. Love that fast sinking feeling.
