Fuel surcharges

Hi Everyone,

I just wanted to warn everyone that as long as fuel prices continue to rise so will your airfare. Even if you have booked a Bulk airfare ticket if it has not been ticketed yet, the price will increase every time that there is a fuel surcharge, as this fuel surcharge is added to the taxes for the ticket.

Buy your ticket now if you can and avoid the increases. This situation will continue as the airlines have found a way to defray the costs of their fuel by blaming the increasing fuel costs for having to add fuel surcharges.

Airlines are able to buy futures on Av Gas and if they did not then they are buying fuel at rapidly increasing prices. The most successful, in terms of profit, airlines in the US at the moment, Southwest Airlines, bought Av Gas at a set rate and when the price continued to climb they saved lots of money compared to what all of the other airlines were paying.

Our governments are letting the airlines do whatever they want and while fares might be regulated to certain markets, they are not putting any restraints on what airlines can charge for surcharges so they are taking full advantage of that.

Buy your Christmas ticket now or the price will continue to go up.

Virgin announced it today, 30gpb per single fare. I know they don't fly to LOS but if one gets away with a fuel surcharge then they will all do it.

just about every US carrier is doing it.

I know that Cathay Pacific, Philippines Airlines, and Air Pacific have also done it and will continue to.
