This is the mail I got back from them when I enquired there.

It looks like there is no joiner fee but I would mail them and ask any direct questions you may have before booking.

Baan Laimai

Steve,
thanks for your reply. I`m holding already a reservation and I know from the hotel that there will be no joiner fee. So this was not really my question. I learned from, I guess, "tripadvisor" that rooms today are dirty and they a stinky....?
This is why I`m a little concerned and searching for somebody who stayed at Baan Laimai resently.

Sorry, can't help you with any personal experience. I would say on a general note that all the hotels I have stayed at in Thailand have been clean, even the old and beat-up ones.

I stayed there for 4 days last week.

All rooms I checked were clean. I stayed on the top (4th) floor. Very pleasant.

As to joiners, I booked in with my 'friend' so no problem there. Although I did see the Joiner Book out and ready at reception, so it might pay to make that clear when you confirm or check in.

The breakfast is very decent and you can't beat the location. Beachfront, only 5 minutes walk or so to Bangla.

I got a room on a walk-in basis. Paid 2000 for the double. Maybe a bit pricey, but didn't have many options at the time, and 'she' did insist on beachfront.
