internet booking for Salathai

I normally make my reservations directly through the hotel to avoid any mis communication but the Salathai is charging 2900 baht for a deluxe room in November whereas other sites are quoting 2600 baht. Can anyone recomend a trustworthy booking site with good prices and up to date availability information to book the Salathai? Are the phuket-info.com "hotel prices" current?Honestly I haven't heard much about our own service.Any feedback?

PS It went like this...Think I'll stay at C&N..No wait Casa Summer Breeze is only a little more.Wow this Patong Villa looks pretty good. It's only a little more expensive. You know if you're gonna spend that much why not go a little more and get a superior room at the Salathai.Research.research,holy crap, young boys with punters around the pool!OK don't panic,I'm sure it's an isolated occurance.Live and let live.Everything else sounds good.Hey that dog has a puffy tail!Stay focused.Mmm the deluxe is only 350 baht more.Better access to pool too.OK I think we have a winner! That was easy, only took two weeks
It was so much easier in BKK.Nana-OK-done.

Top thought process but it does sound like the Salathai are yanking your chain. Why not e-mail them and tell them that you can get a better price through a 3rd party website? Maybe that will shape them up.

The fruity pool thing is for real though; been there. On the upside, all them blokes bothering with each other means your chick is not getting leered at too much.

OK seriously.....Mai Chob,Welcome to the board!!Yes,It's quite a little jump in November. The 2600 is the cheapest I've seen so far. What type of room did you stay in last time? Now I have to ask.Did you notice an unusually high percentage of male couples?

sunem thanks, thats the price I was looking for.(although I may give the hotel an email first as steve suggested.)I like the map!Very easy to find the hotel.I am concerned though if that large flashing red arrow is going to keep me awake at night.

Anyone else care to comment on the"male bonding" at the Salathai.I totally believe you steve,I'm just hoping you were there on a "busy" week

It doesn't bother me that much. But it is "good to know" information.

Thanks For the welcome. The only fruit around the pool I ever saw in the 2 weeks spent there was definitely female ( I can usually spot a LB as well) as the Salathai has no probs with guests. The pool is very nice but can be a little warm due to its black tiles and full sun exposure .(Now I feel overly picky).Just took the standard double room (they seem to call standards "superior" and the 1 up from that "deluxe").Spotless with dble bed 1st time and 2 by 3/4 beds 2nd time.Clean well tiled bathroom , good air , cable and on 1st floor.Ground floor rooms cost more (pool access). There are inferior views at the back and they should go a little cheaper.I find breakfast mai chop at any hotel, in that the country is full of fresh fruit and they give you cordial stuff to drink and try to skimp on the serves .But few hotels will nock down the rate and exclude b,fast.( I,d rather breakfast at a few different places).BY THE WAY HOW DO YOU NOT RECEIVE EMAILS AUTOMATICALLY GENERATED FROM THIS SITE?

The arrow can be turned off!
Or I can change to another colour if it feels better!

hi.i stayed at salathai last december for 2 weeks and never saw any boys with boys just saw boys with girls so i wouldnt worry about that.im staying again in november but im staying in superior room mainly because its cheaper and the deluxe rooms are right next to the pool on ground floor so everyone round pool can see into your room, not much privacy.the best price in could find is on this website.
http://www.atsiam.com/hotels/phuket/...t_thailand.asp
2370 baht for a deluxe room in november which i think isnt to bad.being a dumbass that i am lol i only found this website after i had already booked my room on a different website paying 2250 baht for superior room.

Salathai or Royal Palm

Doesnt the fact that every web booker has a different price for the same room piss you off to BigBud? (Pom mai chob) Anyway , taking the missus mid Oct and thought I might try further down beach road where it should be a little quieter and near my favourite Japanese restaurant.Anyone stayed at The Royal Palm and have any reports? Also any chance of surf? Is there really a ALoha surf shop in Phuket?

Mai Chob. Thanks for the extra information.Sounds like a safe bet for a comfortable stay.I am hoping to get one large bed so I'll try and request that specifically.

Hi bigbudgood.I like that name, and yes it is. Interesting take on the superior vs deluxe room. The hotel pictures give the impression of dark tinted glass so I would have thought that with curtains the privacy would have beeen OK.Kinda like a row of kamers in the RLD of Amsterdam. Hope you didn't get an eyeful while lounging at the pool.555555 The only old guy I wanna see banging Thai girls is the one in the mirror.
That website you posted has some great deals, unfortunatly I didn't read your post untill after I emailed the Salathai asking for a reduction from 2900 baht(their posted rate) to 2600 baht.

steve@thaib you were right. They dropped their price to 2600 baht like 2900 had never existed.Maybe I should email them back."Thank you for 2600 baht. Can you do .............2370 baht?" 55555555.

Just wondering if anyone who stayed in a deluxe poolside room had privacy issues.I certainly don't want shy TG to feel uncomfortable or inhibited.

I stayed poolside and it was perfect, I did get lucky with the room though. As you stand with your back to reception I was at the far end and on the extreme right, best room in the place I reckon. I think you will be fine anywhere tho, no privacy issues. Enjoy

I also stayed in a poolside deluxe room back in March. The tinted windows keep the room private during the daytime but in the evening with the lights on everyone walking by can see into your room unless you close the drapes. I was in room 107 which looks out about mid pool. I'm heading back Nov. 1st and will probably stay in an upstairs Superior room this time.

Thanks for the help everyone.I've just booked Salathai deluxe for mid November, and besides the little extra cost(compared to some of the other popular hotels) I'm happy with the overall choice.

I should mention that when I booked,(sept 28)I had to take a superior room for the first night since all the deluxe rooms were full.I don't want to alarm anyone, but if you're looking for a Salathai Deluxe for November or December you may want to contact them sooner rather than later.

internet booking for Salathai

Hi,

yes - I booked the Salathai over the end of the year and had to take the
Superior Room as the Deluxe Room is fully booked.

Is the Superior Room as in the picture of the following link?

http://www.r24.org/phuket-info.com/p...thai/pictures/

This is my first trip and I have never been there.

Thanks,
Wolf

Hi all

I also booked a standard/"superior" room at the Salathai over the internet
from the end of October the rate was ~1600TB.
It can be a "jungle" to find a hotel in Phuket on the internet, was looking for
almost a week (to many choices) I hope the Salathai is ok.

Cant wait to spend 2 weeks in the LOS, and to visit all the places (bars) I have read about on this forum, and maby meet some of you guys

September is still low season I guess - I go for prime season - Christmas/New Year. That's why it is more expensive as they really put up their prices then.
Hope the bars, massage and girls don't put their prices up - I would be broke after the first day!!!
