My 1st time in Phuket and my observations.
Hi, new to the forum and just left Phuket, specifically Patong Beach. I am wrapping up a 5 country asian tour and just wanted to share some thoughts about Phuket.
1. Beach was very clean! unlike other beaches I have seen elsewhere. Just sand, no rocks or floating debri. I was very impressed. Beautiful islands in the distance, oh how picturesque! 2. Night life was great! Lots of girls, bars, beers and disco all within 5 minutes walk of my hotel. 3. Hotel very nice. By far the best bargain for the buck I have had in all my travels. It was cheaply priced, very clean rooms. All I wanted was a safe and A/C, I got that and more. Summer Breeze Hotel (I believe). Great staff and food too. 4. Drinking water, no problem. Again, everywhere I have been, I avoided the water. But no water worries in Phuket. So, Phuket...Patong Beach, gets a thumbs up in my travel log. The only gripe, and this is a small one, is that the sales people that run clothing shops or whatever are a little too eager to get your business. Anyway, just my reflections. Enjoy!

welcome to the forum
would be careful of drinking water from tap bottled water is cheap,locals dont even drink water from tap.

Good post Martin and welcome aboard.
I noticed I got free sealed bottle water this trip to Patong Villa. There were many discussions amongst the BM's at the MTB during my visit and quite a few of us had travelled quite a bit around the Far East - Vietnam, Singers, HonkyFid, Malaysia, Korea and various places in Thailand - Bangkok and Pattaya in particular and I must admit that most, if not everyone said that there was just something about Phuket that brought them back again and again. I have the Phuket bug after living and working in 46 countries now and it just has that certain 'something' - Personally, it's those smiles!

Hey Martin Great post, I have stayed at the Summer Breeze 5 trips also.I am glad to here patong is in great shape. I will be staying at the Breeze for 2 months in November if you are back in patong. I will be looking forward to having a beer with you at Breeze.
