OK I was only enquiring ,but I just asked the receptionist at Jintana if they charged for any guests brought back.

She wasn't at all fazed by the question and I got my answer with a smile

No nothing untoward Paul

I forget who asked me but I said I would ask when I was there for future reference. The guy in the room next door to me confirmed what I had been told by the receptionist.Only ID to be shown.

I think most hotels have been asked at some point in time if they charge extra to bring a guest into the room. They must be so used to it that it doesn't faze them.

I have a standard question which I e-mail to hotels:

I am visiting Phuket from - to - and would like to know if you have rooms available.

Please could you also advise on your overnight room guest policy?

They all seem to understand the question perfectly well.

Asking that question via email is something I always do when try a new hotel and especially if it does not come recommended as guest friendly via the many forums and websites which list hotels that are ok.

I have found each and every time that the response has been very professional, polite and friendly from all that i have tried.

Then again, all hotels that I have emailed have indeed been guest friendly so I have yet to see the response of one that isn't.
