You can fly to Pattaya from Phuket using only www.bangkokair.com

Its about 1hrs drive into Pattaya though, Mini-bus will cost you 300bt and a private taxi will cost 800bt.

By the way Pattaya is possibly a little bit cheaper than Phuket for most stuff.

Hi Alan,

Both Bangkok Airways + Samui Airways offer flights PATA-PKHTwith some of the flights stoppping off (both airlines) in Samui

Flight duration should be no more tha 1.5 hrs unless there is a stop on Samui which would add about 45 mins

The Airport near Pattaya is called U-Tapoa (25 mins by taxi and the flight should be about 50 Euros one way

To get to Pattaya from BKK I would use taxi - about BHT1200 + Tolls of BHT150 - always use the tollway as it is much quicker-allow 2 hrs but I have done it at night in about 1.5 hrs

have a great trip

I have never heard of Samui Airlines? Maybe you are getting mixing them both up?

Samui airport is privately owned by Bangkok Airways, And no other airline flys there, And U-Tapoa is an old military base only serviced by Bangkok airways as far as I know.

Have you got a link to Samui Airways?

PS: Taxi from the U-Tapoa airport in the centre of Pattaya takes about an hour, You must have had nitro injection in the back of your taxi or wings..5555555.

AB,

i have definitely taken a Samui Airlines flights from U-Tapoa to both Samui + Phuket............said it on the ticket + on the side of the plane...............perhaps they are both owned by the one company and as is usual with airline alliances etc they flight share..............perhaps Samui don't even exist post tsunami...........I did this trip about 2 years ago

you may well be right about the taxi taking longer I was gonna say half an hour.............I left from Sth Jomtien which I think is closer...........

Anyway Alan best to factor AB's recommendations into the equation as well

I hope it all goes well for you

Yes they are the same there is no such airline called Samui airways, Some of the planes do have Samui wrote on the side and not Bkkairways but they are definatly the same airline.

PS: Just seen the other post on the other thread, As stevem said one everyone gets where they want to go and has fun, Thats cool.

SORRY ali but i have to agree with the other guy it only took me 30 minutes by mini bus from u-tapao airport to soi 5 in pattaya and thats on 2 separate occasions. Your driver must take a strange route, also i have a mate who lives in satahip which is not far from utapao only takes 30 minutes to his house in bhat bus.

I agree with you on the other point i reckon there is no such airline as samui airlines just as you stated no other airline can fly from samui .
