Patong Beach Lodge/ Patong Bayshore

I'm just looking at accommodation for upcoming trip for Songkran.

I stayed at Jintana Patong Hotel last trip and it was a fine hotel for the price.

Unfortunately they have increased the price for April06 by another 400baht a night and needing two rooms works out the price of a couple of nights drinking. I may still book here but would like to try somewhere else really.

I have narrowed down my choice to one of four ,but I know nothing about either Patong Beach Lodge,or Patong Bayshore, both in Rat-u-thid Rd.

Has anyone stayed at either of these and what were their thoughts on the place?

Yes i stayed at Patong Bayshore 16 days in june. Its a okay hotel and the pool is very big and very nice. The staff there are friendly and helpfull and its not fare from the beach and Bangla Rd...Its NOT guest friendly they have a 300THB charge for guest.Thats was the only thing i dident liked when i stayed there.

Patong Beach Lodge

Hi Dawsey, i stayed at Patong beach lodge Nov 2004. It is about a 5-10 minute walk to Bangla and the hotel itself is about 100m down a lane off Rat-u-thit. The pool was smallish, but it was still ok.

Im sure youve seen the rooms on their website, they are quite modern and clean but some of them on the smallish side. Maybe when you check in ask to see the room first, as my friends had a really large twin room with 2 beds, i had a good sized room with a double bed, and another friend had a small room.

No joiner fee, but not entirely guest friendly, and the guards and the desk staff always gave the disapproving looks but never said anything.

Good breakfast, and included in the room price of 785 baht for April if u book online (eg Directrooms)

Overall i would stay here again as it must be one of the best value hotels around patong during low season. If i had a TG staying with me i might choose somewhere a bit more girl friendly.

Cheers Jay and all the other guys who have replied.

I have now booked the suite at Patong Villa for 2500 per night, sleeps 3.

I've stayed there before and found it a good value hotel with a nice pool.

I will however take a look at the Patong Beach Lodge and Bayshore while I'm there for future visits.
