im in Bangkok in 2 weeks for 3 weeks i been to Thailand many many times yet have not spent alot of time in Bangkok maybe only a month or so there .........i would like to know where any chill out bars are something cool for a young english guy to go too.........i would like to get a local bar in Bangkok something i could visit on my trips there with a good atmosphere good guys and girls and also maybe an online coverage like alot of the bars in Phuket have

Although I havent been to Bangkok for several years, I used to like hanging out at

1) Henry J Beans under Amari Watergate
2) The lounge bar at the Siam City Hotel, great filipino bands

I and most of my friends hate Khao San. Lots of smelly backpackers, but its a great place to during Son khran festival because they all get free showers and come out for some clean fun. Other than that, stick to the Sukhumvit area. Besides your normal go go areas, try Soi 11's Bed Supper Club and Q-bar, Soi 5's Gullivers, and Country Road near Asok Skytrain station. Nice and relaxed places.
