Hotel In BKK???
I am meeting my Thai fiancee in BKK on the 13th. I have never been to BKK before and was wondering if the NANA hotel was a good place to stay???? Or if anyone can reccomend any nice hotel for 1500 Baht or less a night. Want to stay in good clean room.

Well if meeting a fiance the nana is not where I would be staying.. Kinda says something about the guest if you know what I mean..
I like Majestic suites but then if I was meeting a fiance I may well book somewhere well away from NEP and sukhumvit playgrounds..

You might want to make reservations at the Ambassador, but before you check in, walk next door to the Grand President, and see if you can cut a deal with them. if they won't match you price range, then check into the Ambassador 1100b.

Personally I like to stay in the Supphan Kwai area near Chatuchak Market. The market is open on the weekends so you could check it out on the 14th or 15th while you stay there. The place is freakin huge!
Its also not so far from the airport and keeps you away from a lot of that traffic around Sukhumvit.
Its not so english speaking friendly, but since you are with your fiancee she can help you out with any language issues.
I like to stay at the karnmanee palace hotel there. It is 1100 baht / night and has a good western/thai breakfast included.

On my return to Bkk after NY I stayed at PjWatergate, was ok and free wifi from their internetshop, or at least was free for me
Maybe kinda backwards if you go for party but with gf and shopping location is ok..

Is Pj Watergate hotel located near a BTS stop? Looks like a nice place to stay for that price.

Close to Indra regent and not too far from world trade, pantip or siam. I can't remember a station but I guess it should not be too far..

Havnt stayed at the PJ Watergate, but have stayed numerous times at the Amari Watergate, basically around corner. Abit on the pricey side, but a great hotel, especially if you get on the executive floors. And then there is Henry J Beans down stairs, great for a feed, the chilli fries are great, and a few beers.

the ambassador is a lovely hotel but only problem i found once you use their facilities (and they have plenty) it really whacks the bill up. i had a real shock when i checked out. plus they will let you bring a couple of girls in then you get stopped and asked to pay!
personally i prefer the well run, secure , and clean budget hotels.
