Best Hotel @ Affordable Price

I know this has been answered here plenty of times.

But still unable to make up my mind.

This is my first trip and i want to stay in the Action area with girls every night

Plz suggest me the hotel with around 1000 - 1500 THB per night.

The ones which i feel are good by reading the posts is

NANA
Dynasty Inn
Majestic

Plz suggest any more or the better from these one.

P.S. How far is Amari Atrium from the Action Area.

Nana has the location but I havent stayed there. Dynasty gets nothing but good reviews from people I know who have staye din BKK recently. Majestic suites no longer has cheap room rate deals and have ahd reports that rooms are looking a bit worn now.

Majestic rooms 'worn' ??? Compared to either Nana or Dynasty its a different league IMHO..

Nana is cheap cheerful and has Angels disco downstairs and the famous parking lot meat market.. Those plus's aside its a bit of a dump..

Dynasty is one step up (and only a few steps accross from) the Nana but is still not a nice room.. Old cheapy wood panel.. Low standard bathrooms etc.. Serviceable but not nice.. I should say my buddy likes the place but he says theres new and old rooms and they know him.. Seems I got an old room (for 1200 also !!) as it was the last one available and they tried to stiff me 500 baht at the desk over a deposit they insisted on but denied taking.. So maybe I saw it in a bad light..

Majestic is again only a couple of steps away but has a doorman in uniform, attractive good desk service, clean rooms with granite and marble, wireless net (for a charge I hear not been there since it was installed), the rooms are small but much much nicer..

Not tried it but my buddies said the Worabri just a bit further down Soi 4 was OK for the money.. No idea..

Me I just book Majestic and dont question it..

Ive stayed at Woraburi and Majestic. Woraburi is a step below all the others in my opinion as the customer service absolutely stank. When I mentioned 'worn' about majestic suites they certainly were last time I stayed there in November. The wood on the interior fittings had been bashed to hell, the marble tiles were cracked in the bathroom and bedroom. The shower head was blocked and tv burnt out on us and had to be replaced. The shutters on the windows didnt fully close and one of the bedside lights was broken. So I guess you could call that 'worn'. Things seemed to become worn as 2005 went on as I stayed in the same floor for January, April, May and November of 2005. Maybe they had problems with hotel housekeeping/caretaking?? For information both times I stayed in a room facing nana plaza on about the third floor.

I could rant on about how bad the Woraburi was but this isnt the place to do that. On the plus side it had a nice pool area.

Wow.. I stayed a couple of times in 2005 each time in the 1500 superior rooms and each time facing Sukhumvit (guessing 3rd and 4th floors).. The room was spotless and nothing like that existed..

Basically comparing Nana and Dynasty (again I stayed in the 'old rooms' at Dynasty) to those was a totaly different league (though I dont like showers standing in a bath.. Too tall for asian shower heads that way) and ther was nothing that was chipped / cracked etc..

Maybe I got lucky, you got unlucky or a little of both..

I like the Nana, suits my purposes and I'm only ever there for 1 or 2 nights. I would think that the place would get a bit much for any longer than that. It is tired, but has always been clean when I've been there.

Not in the Nana, I think if you went back there without a girl they would send you back out to try again...

Hey sparky. No joiner fee for one girl at any of these hotels.

The general concensus among BM's that have stayed at all of these hotels is that the Majestic rooms are more upscale than the other two. They also have in-room safes which is a nice feature.I've never stayed there but have walked by it often.
I have stayed at the other hotels and here's my take.
Dynasty(front building)These rooms are clean but a little worn looking. There's a lot of wood trim, wooden doors wooden stairway railings,a real wood theme which makes it look almost antique (and I guess it is)bathtub and toilet also showing their years but everything was clean and in working order.

Dynasty (back building)These are the new rooms. You walk through the front building, past the travel agent desk out into a small parking area/courtyard,where you'll see the back building.Rooms are smaller than the front building(I had the standard room in both buildings)and instead of a tub there's a shower stall. It may have been a quirk of my particular room, but you couldn't open the bathroom door all the way without hitting the toilet.Summary;clean and new but small.
Overall I was comfortable at the Dynasty.Nice restaurant and small bar in the lobby. Also tables and barstool-type seating outside the front door. The staff were helpful with my requests and questions and my 500 baht security deposit was returned to me at the end of my stay.Free shuttle to Pattaya if you book the Dynasty Pattaya(it's an almost new building) for two nights

This tour I spent 4 nights at the Nana Hotel. The room was clean but certainly a little worn looking.Aside from that, the Nana had everything I wanted.A disco with plenty of stunners,a quiet bar,the infamous parking lot,Nana Plaza across the street,a large lobby with comfy chairs for watching the world go by,large restaurant with free buffet breakfast, internet access, travel consultants and something the other two hotels can't offer.A very nice outdoor pool on the third floor, great for a refreshing afternoon dip.
The Nana is one of those places that you either love or hate.(it's obvious which group I fall into) but especially for a first time visitor who may be too intimidated to wander too far from his hotel for the first couple of days,if you can get past the worn(but clean) rooms,it offers one stop shopping that the other two hotels can't.

I also stayed at the Landmark Hotel, which is very upscale, but despite the richly appointed rooms and pampered service,I found myself missing the down to earth, P4P friendly attitude of the Nana.I guess for me,I know why I come to Bangkok, and it's not for a fancy hotel room.

I hope this helps someone. (or at least doesn't confuse, alienate or enrage anyone. )Did I mention?....I Nana

Have rates gone up ??? I am sure it was 1200 and 1500 as choices when I went.. I took a 1500 as it was marked a double and I had not checked if the 'singles' created a joiner fee situation..

As to what to compare them too in Patong.. Not too sure mate as Hotels and patong are not something I have done in ages.. Rooms are not large but they are clean and well presented and granite and marble counters in bathroom etc..

Exclamation 3500bhat joiner fee at Woraburi!

I booked and paid online to stay at the Woraburi Hotel for 14 nights( I booked a double) and once they had my money thet informed me there is a 3500 bhat joiner fee per guest per visit. I cancelled my booking and I am now going to stay at the Nana Hotel with no hassles about ladies as that is why I am going! Be Aware!
