Best places for night outs to meet people

Hi, Is there any good bar/clubs where other brits and other english speakers go, on night outs as I'm going on my own (Also it would nice if I meet a nice british woman on holiday but not important

edited: to be a bit clearer

I had a look on the bangkok bob site but it does not get updated that often. I've heard the bed supper club is a good place to go

I did a quick search but couldn't find anything

thanks

As for best places to go depends what you really are looking for.
NEP Cowboy and Patpong for all the touristy places, where you will get approached by more girls than you can shake a stick at!
Bed is a pretty cool place, but you may find you will have to approach the girls in there rather than they approach you.

I'm not looking for a bar girl or anything like that, just places where other UK people go, as I'm going to thailand on my own (and if I met a nice british woman, even better)

Not much British ladies to find in Thailand. The place is full of nice looking Thai girls. I dont know where you go but in Bangkok I can recommend Soi Cowboy and in Patong off course Bangla Road.

go to london, hears there are tons of british people!!
i understand you want to meet like-minded people, but if you travel half way around the world, you should be open to meetign other people
and thailand is perfect for it. just go inot any bar and sit down, before you know it you will have met people from all around the world
also, even if you dont want to go with a bargirl(which we will see if that lasts!) even havign a drink with them and talking and joking can be fun

Mate, I think you'll find it's not much like Malta!

In fact it's not much like anywhere else in the world. Bangkok is an incredibly exciting 24 hour city. From the moment you arrive, even as you're driving in from the airport you can feel the life there. It's electric.

People either speak English or Thai. If you don't speak Thai, you won't understand a single word. Forget about it and go with the flow.

You don't have to go to the girlie bars, although they are a sight to see and it would be a shame to go all that way and not even have a look, even if you don't actively participate.

But it's a hell of a long way to go if you're looking for English women. And once you get there, I bet you'll find yourself wondering why you wanted to in the first place. It would be like going to a Gordon Ramsay restaurant and asking for spaghetti hoops.

Forget your preconceptions, wear a smile, say hello and you'll have the time of your life.

I'm sure I'll go to girlie bars in soi cowboy and get the soapy massage, the thing I was trying to say was if I were to meet a fit girl eg from UK or europe would be an added bonus. (Sorry about not being clear)

Hope you are settling in!!! Like you I had difficultly meeting new people when first arriving in Bangkok. I found that joining social groups was the best way to meet people. If you're interested in sport there are lots of sporting activities to join and there are also plenty of women's groups as well. The Bangkok Guide produced by the Australian-New Zealand Women's Group is well worth purchasing. It lists all the sports, leisure, welfare and social groups in Bangkok with plenty of other useful information. You could also contact your embassy as I know my embassy holds regular events/activities which would help you meet other expats.

Or, if you are of a more literary bent...

Why do farang females gather in a dimly lit basement of the Old Dutch Pub in Soi Cowboy, an area renowned for its girly bars? And what do the women - teachers, musicians, sales reps, humanitarian aid workers, students, television producers, and business owners from more than a dozen countries - have in common apart from the fact that they all live in Bangkok?
Every other Wednesday night between 7 and 9PM, the Bangkok Women's Writing Group convenes at the Old Dutch Pub on Sukhumvit, Soi 23 to share what they have written and to reconnect socially as women who live in a testosterone-weighted city. The female scribes write poetry, children's books, erotica, novels, memoirs, personal essays, and screenplays. No previous experience is required to join apart from a passion for writing and a desire to share it with like-minded women.

Mango Sauce seems to have hit a 'Motheer'-Lode:

I had always wondered where ex-pat farang girls go at night. It seems that they all come here. Personally, I've forgotten what it's like with a white woman but surely there must be a few farang guys out there who prefer blondes. If so, you can take your pick here. They will go with you for free! (See Why do farang girls hate Thailand?). The Dubliner chicks have their own ladies night on Wednesdays and over 100 usually turn up.

And finally:

I had look through the bar girl pics and a lot of them are stunning.

From what i've heard everyone is so friendly in Thailand, I should be fine meeting people (and I'm 25).

Tyfon: thanks for the info
