Hello
I am would like to know if any Aussies have had any luck with standard travel agent package hotels. Meaning GF and close to the action. Just low to medium quality would do me.

I had luck with my t/agent booking my hotel...
My hotel in question is listed on here as being non g/f
I can say that they were g/f...........But I'm not advertising it.
There is a loophole you can get around.....
It's a 4 star hotel & has rooms on offer at the moment for 1400baht & the special is....stay 10 nights pay 5...stay 12 pay 6 etc....Till Nov.

Airlines only package with properties that pay them, most GF properties dont pay any commissions at all. Have a look around for some airfares only and then check out some of the hotels suggested on here. Visit their web sites and send them an email for quotes.

www.flightcentre.com.au

And also the airline web sites, sometimes you can get good cheap fares from the airlines directly. It is best to avoid travel agents, its easy to arrange your own travel plans. If you have any questions, then just ask on here, someone will be able to help out.
